thought of the day
So about this water falling from the sky thing--is this normal? Also noted: when walking outside, my shoes did not try to melt off my feet.
Curious. One might think to themselves, you mean, central Texas isn't a deathtrap trying to kill us all by cooking us to death? I marvel.
Seriously. There's like, *thunder*. I have never been more excited at the thought of traipsing through mud puddles in my life.

From:Maybe it'll hold until *evening*? Maybe the electricity at work will go out dramatically! But not at home. *crosses fingers*

From:Phoenix is a special, special place. (I can't wait 'til the snowbirds get here! They drive like, well, dotty old people.)

From:I shouldn't complain because we had a couple of weeks of sun, but... I have a row of shoes running from "still squishes" to "only slightly damp."

From:Interestingly enough, I too had the hopeful thought about the electricity going out at work but not at home...I'm not that lucky, though.

From:Even though it only took about 10 minutes from the first real rain shower to the first sirens--does *everyone* forget how to drive in this stuff? Or did they even know in the first place?
Well. The cats are freaked out (I have the patio door open for the first time in 2 months, because it's only 73 at 8:35 in the morning) by the smells and the sounds.
And this means the mosquitoes will be back, damnit. But I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

From:The last puddle I saw was caused by a small child unable to make it to the bathroom on time.

From:And they tell us we can expect more of the same in future years. I don't know what the world's coming to.
Still, it's 68 and raining today. That's more like the English summer I know and love.
