Child just started pasta on fire.

Pasta.

On fire.

Parenthood: totally worth it.

Was it the old "long spaghetti slumped over the edge of the pot on a gas stove"? Because a friend's old girlfriend did that ON A REGULAR BASIS.

PS--Go rewatch the first Captain America movie. I just realized the female private who kisses Steve is Natalie Dormer.

Also one of the girls who go out with him and Bucky near the start is Clara Oswald.

Did he do it on purpose? As an experiment? I ask because I have a nephew who's just gotten very into science, and I'm wondering if I should warn my sister that this is a thing. :)

My kid put a can of soup in the microwave. Twice. It makes you wonder how they are going to survive on their own in a few years. It also makes you want popcorn in one hand and a fire extinguisher in the other, but, you know...

At least you know he's... uh... resourceful and creative in the kitchen??

I got nothing. How did he even MANAGE that? I've set the ends of spaghetti on fire accidentally -- or, uh, deliberately; I was a "poke this into the flame and see what happens! :D" kind of child -- but spiral pasta is something else again.

Impressive!

I am taking some comfort in the fact that my little fish (who, for reasons which satisfy me even as they make me want to stab her mother, does not presently know how to cook) will be spending significant time with older students who do know how to conduct themselves in a kitchen and who have a rice cooker.

...How did he even manage that? I'm sitting here baffledly trying to figure out how you set rotini on fire without literally taking a flame to them on purpose!
