eloriee -- thank you very, very much. I keep randomly going to look at it in wonder. As this is so cool.

Okay, one, to say this is the most awesome thing ever is to understate--two, well-known, obvious fact: Spanish does not, in fact, really prepare you to read advanced Italian, like, at all. But I get to look at it and at the English file and glee ridiculously.

I'm going to be fairly gleeful about this for a bit, I think.

That is so awesome!! I had someone approach me about translating Aftermat into Italian, and I was just thrilled to pieces. It's such a kick to think that people in an entirely different language want to read something that YOU WROTE, you know? And that someone was actually willing to sit down and do all the work. [applause for eloriee]

The ironic thing is my roomie speaks Italian, and his interest in Merlin increased tremendously when I told him there was an Italian fic community out there.

So here I am all calm on a Friday evening and you GIVE ME FLAIL. I took Italian for four years and was recently thinking of getting back into it. Of course, a lot of the books I have are rather dry and boring and BAM. You give me Merlin. In Italian. WITH PORNY-NESS.


Spanish... will give you the same basic level of understanding that French will when it comes to Italian. The rules make a lot of sense, but the vocab? Not so much.

Goes off to read more in English and will tackle the Italian tomorrow.
