To say that one of the bigger joys of my career right now is that I have my own white board and four colors of dry erase markers probably should be a worrisome development. I do not care. I have four colors of marker, a whiteboard that's also magnetic and with corkwood at the bottom, and life is awesome.

I have a thing for office things, sue me.

Now to collect more magnets!

I love magnets! I have the same board in my cubicle. My favourite magnet is one that says "My Marxist Feminist Dialectic Brings All the Boys to the Yard".

I believe it goes over the heads of most, if not all, my co-workers heads, which always fills me with glee.

I would regard this as an excellent test for potential candidates for really good friends. I know my face would light up if I saw this in somebody's cubie, and certainly if I posted it and somebody pointed at it and started to giggle, I would be very pleased. But then, I've been known to post rather odd lolcat pix, too.

It is possible that my first thought was "wow, I could've used that for the last tabletop game I was in."

Office things are awesome. My partner and I have been known to offer each other the Staples catalogue with the question, "Want the porn?"

Okay, teh real est of office happiness is do you have a white board eraser that works? Because you can always pilfer coloured markers from the stationery cupboard, but finding a working eraser is so much harder!

I totally get this. I was SO RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY when my sister presented me with a pack of SEVEN different-coloured highlighters. And my giant whiteboard (from Staples) was the envy of my department - until we got a new member of staff in charge of stationery and people actually got to order them for themselves!

I'm right there with you on the office supplies love. I've got a huge whiteboard in my office that's the envy of every editor in the building; apparently my predecessor managed to get a $1,000 "Whiteboard System" purchase through the higher-ups (when I figure out how she managed that, I'll be a true editorial genius). Editors from around the building come in to marvel at its expansive, magnetic, multi-colored glory. :-)

airgiodslv wrote an untitled werewolf Inception story for a kink fest prompt, in which my favorite part was how possessive Eames was of the whiteboard and pens.

"Sometime in the middle of the afternoon, when Eames has reorganized Arthur’s filing system, commandeered all of his red pens and the full set of whiteboard markers, rewritten his notes on the mark’s schedule, and taken over the contested chair, he realizes that he’s reacting to Arthur as an alpha."

Congrats! Once one goal is achieved, time to move onto larger goals. ;-) :-D

One of my goals in life is to have a wall-sized whiteboard, unfortunately, whiteboard paint is a little expensive—$200 for a kit to cover 50 sq ft. (I have not yet shopped for magnet-friendly sheets of metal that big. Ditto cork.)

But, imagine my squee when I found whiteboard markers in purple and pink. So someday, I will have my whiteboard wall with my holy trinity of purple, pink and blue markers.

Ooooh! How I miss office supplies. I have a small whiteboard on my fridge and now I'm itching to go to Staples and get coloured markers!

One of the absolute best things about being a teacher is the whiteboard. I have like 98 different colors of marker. I have varying widths. If I ever got a SMARTboard, I would be thrilled, but I would miss the whiteboard a little bit.
