There are many reasons I refer to my sister's son's father as Future Serial Killer, because he's just that disturbing. At four this morning, he continued his adventures in Calling Obsessively For Hours Until I Try to Give Him Hives With My Mind.

So I've been awake since the ninth call, circa 4:30, and I totes tried to sleep and gave up at five-thirty. However, I entertained myself with various things and also decided I will not destroy worlds, because that would be wrong.

Instead, other things.

The Vampire Diaries - Damon Wants You to Watch

Okay, it is rare that a show manages to be better than the books, but strangely enough, they are. I read the first four when I was eighteen (and more's the pity that she added to the series after that) and so far I'm grooving the changes (especially Vicky, since her fate seriously sucked and let me tell you, this? Improvement). If you can make it through the first three eps, the fourth starts picking it up, and the sixth is awesome not least of which because Damon dances on the side of a balcony to "Enjoy the Silence" and frankly he's ungodly hot. I mean, don't even watch the show. Just watch episode six for the dancing. I'll send it to you.

Bonnie is seriously awesome - SHE LIGHTS FIRES WITH HER MIND. I really want her to be my BFF so I can help her find things to start on fire. I'm that kind of awesome friend.

I'm still thinking how I can write to the SV producers and show them Elena as an example of how to do a character with a tragic past right. There really isn't a character I don't like on this show. Well, Caroline, but you're not supposed to like her, and there's this pity thing going on? Anyway.

The Vampire Diaries! Yay!

svmadelyn and I spent part of one night mapping out the plot arc this season, since they seem to be keeping certain elements from the books, please let them keep this element, please.

Anyway, for those who are interested:

I don't want to say you should write this fandom so I have more fic to entertain me. But that's kind of my motivation here.

Fiction

So I added another four thousand words to Trek fic, and it's now--well, longer. I mean, I can see the end! But by the time I finish this no one will care, which is actually kind of motivating. That means I can skip spellcheck! Which hates me. Really.

Last check, my WIP list in Merlin, Star Trek, The Vampire Diaries, Due South, and Heroes is not getting shorter. There's a fair to good chance they will rise up and kill me in my sleep. I'm weirdly okay with that; it means I would get to sleep. And not be reorganizing my computer by the light of the stars.

I'm trying to figure out how to fall asleep under my desk without anyone noticing.

I was up until 2:45 reading that freaking soap fic. I--I was in the middle of a dream about said soap fic when I woke up cruelly this morning. Let me know if you figure out a way to fall asleep under your desk, 'cause that could come in handy today.

It picks up? Really? I adore the books, but stopped with the show after the first episode. I was getting a whole 'Lana' vibe from Elena and I just couldn't stomach it... darn it, now I'm gonna have to give it another chance. :)

Seriously, Elena is really fun, and the show gets tons better by four. And I will say this--I would watch Elena BE Lana to get episode six. Though you have to see five to appreciate how deeply screwedup six is. *GLEE*

Your wip list looks a lot like mine...although mine goes: Merlin, Star Trek, Criminal Minds, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood..and I am SURE I am forgetting something...oh yes, Slings and Arrows. My list is eying me with deep burning resentment.

And I added more to the Bonnie/Damon fic in the last couple of days.

Also - he needs to NOT CALL that early. Can you turn the ringer off?

Yes, but it's complicated, since there's a custody agreement and he's--unstable. We're working on adding a court order he can only call during daylight hours or something.

If you get to pick might I suggest you actually specify the hours: daylight can be a long time in summer.

Also, Damon Salvatore dancing to "Enjoy the Silence" can never be topped. Well, unless he's a pushy bottom.

It pleases me to see more and more people pimping this show. And I agree with you, episode four is where it turned for me from slashy (possibly the slashiest EVER) eyecandy to a show with characters I really cared about, and which I am proud to be completely head-over-heels obsessed with.

As for the books? There is a scene in the first one that if they included it? I think I would die blissfully happy. UNF. They are both so hot it kills me.

Thanks to SPN, and my manic need to see the very first second of that show, I am now a VD (holy... that looks like venereal disease...Jesus) fan. I typically (since The Buffy) don't watch vamp shows, but I'm really getting into this.

Was it really good? I just caught bits of an episode today- and yes they are both very pretty. Was having flashes of threesomes between the two brothers and female lead too. Never read the books, but I was really dubious about the series considering it followed Twilight- a book that makes me want to send Stephanie Meyers to college to retake English. I realize LJ smith is much older-but I think Meyers has permanently damaged my view of the vampire genre.

Sorry about the odd writing, just slipping this in before I head to bead. Also, if you do decide to write fics for this fandom, I'd definitely read it. Considering your fanfiction got me to watch Merlin, I'd probably watch a few episodes just to know what the fic was about.

But please don't abandon your STxi fic! I'm really looking forward to the sequel.
