It's like watching a visual representation of either irony or an amazingly subtle and complex sense of humor. And you know, considering the source? Not leaning toward humor.

No, Really, Click Now, Kthx

Okay, this is going to be a little out there, but bear with me--anyone else kinda of maybe think something went really really wrong here?

If Moses is not headdesking himself into a celestial aneurysm, I will be surprised.

Ahahahahahahaha! That's hysterical.

I'm so starting a new church. It will feature a Money Bull to worship and cupcakes. Because everyone loves money and cake.

I just noticed that your "Uncategorical" tag list includes multiple varieties of crazy. Why not this one, too? Or is it only fannish crazy that gets tagged as crazy? And isn't this "Bible Fandom, Ur Doin It Rong"?

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2008-10-30 10:37 pm (UTC)
I don't have that tag, do I? I need to consolidate my crazy tags, though.

*prays* Lord, don't hurt me - I did'nt know ... okay who am I kidding? Yeah I didn't know but even if I did, I wouldn't have been able to stop it or protest because my head would have been exploding. Like it is now.

If that is not the perfect definition of irony, I don't know what is.

Dear God, just smite us now. Don't wait.

...

I was going to say something about the worship of idols, the incredible amounts of irony and the bit about asking an omnipotent being to control a system that, in effect, relies on being unstable for wealth to be generated.

But really, the only thing that seems to say it properly is "Wow, biblical fail".

On a funny note after I saw this I was curious whether any Christian saints were associated with a bull as their symbol, and there is Saint Eustace (who is also one of the 14 Holy Helpers who were important saints in the middle ages, and he's the one to go for help when facing adversity or difficult situations which I guess applies), who is also a patron saint of *plumbers* in some places... (He's listed as plumber patron on German pages, but for some reason the English pages on saints never mention it.)

So considering that you Americans are all supposed to identify with "Joe the Plumber" now, I found that funny.

From the point of view of someone that isn't really Christian any more, I am seriously boggled. I mean, these are the people who say that they actually read the bible, right? I mean even I know most of the stories of the bible and that is a *big* one. As is, "Do this and be really freaking stupid". What a bunch of morons.

While this is hysterical on so many levels, I do wonder if it's not an intentional prank by a performance art group. In Seattle, we have the Cacaphony Society, and that is precisely the sort of thing they would do.
