so yes. thursday

Imagination y/n.

Is every community in the world debating something that is going to force me to stroke out over my vanilla biscotti coffee?

(God this coffee is good.)

(I have low blood pressure! I can physically feel when it rises. It is creepy.)

Um. Actually, yes. I did indeed post just to say this. That and um, prosper and suchlike. And that I'm halfway through New Moon and I am still not ashamed.

However.

Just for the record: Bella/Alice OTP. The males are, en masse, irritating the hell out of me. Edward and Jacob, you are both so lucky I forgive a lot for pretty.

I have Twilight sitting at the side of my bed. I'm thinking I'll take it on the plane to DC next week. And I'm not sorry either.

*g* It's like fanfic, I swear. Epic Romantic Fanfic. With chasing! AND TRUE LOVE.

Seriously. I feel like a junkie. I brought New Moon and Eclipse to work becuase I was scared Id' finish New Moon adn woulnd't be able to start the third one.

I think Im bringing World War Z and House of Leaves for the plane. House of Leaves freaks me out so badly there's a good chance the plane could crash and I'd still be too creeped out to notice. Or--*winces*--the erotic Count of Monte Cristo thing.

From: [identity profile] batdina.livejournal.com Date: 2008-06-05 04:07 pm (UTC)
oh man. I remember House of Leaves. I read it on the plane shortly after my mom died and it scared the crap outta me. I suppose it probably would have scared me whether my mom had just died or not, but at this point the two things are inextricably entwined.

Hey, I used SAT words. Good high school English teacher!

The entire book is designed to be unsettling. It's kind of funny how *much* that works. So yes, definitely plane ride. At very minimum, it will keep me distracted from obsessive sudoku games.

*g* With House of Leaves. If I have nightmares, you get to, too.

You are such a good friend! *wry* I'm always happy to get books-- just sometimes it takes me a while to use them properly. *G*

*resists the urge to get Twilight* Everyone says it's so trashy and bad! And, yet, every other person seems to love them (maybe for their trashy badness?)! What to do?

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2008-06-05 04:55 pm (UTC)
That is the attraction! This is superemo Romeo and Juliet all the way. It is self-indulgent like whoa. It is love.

Why don't you want you slap Bella upside the head? That was my gut reaction.

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2008-06-05 05:30 pm (UTC)
I--do not know. But I seriously love Bella *immensely*. Yes, I'm creeped out by this development as well.

Jenn, you're femslashing? \o/ Then again, it's Twilight. /o\

(I started that as /o? which I frankly think is even better: HEAD-SCRATCHIN'.)

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2008-06-05 06:14 pm (UTC)
I femmeslashed in Voyager and read it in Smallville (as Chloe/Lana makes more sense than basically any pairing but Clark/Lex).

Seriously, all the guys are irritating. Bella's neurotic, but the way they carry on, I'm surprised she sane.

I femmeslashed in Voyager

Ahh, yeah. Never saw that. (Although it may be one of the shows [livejournal.com profile] kangeiko keeps trying to force-feed me when I'm in London?)

As for Smallville, I cannot watch, but I once read a Chloe/Lana that made so much sense even without canon knowledge -- [livejournal.com profile] vylit wrote it, I think?

So, Twilight; fess up: Is the writing bearable? I don't mind soapy plots and crazy happenings (see QAF, for example) as long as the style is decent and the characterisation make sense.

Voyager was awesome, and Janeway/Seven was practically canon. They pleased. *g*

Huh. Classic sci-fi seems to be nice that way (I saw those Bab5 eps).

Do you have a craving for blueberry muffins yet? Oddly enough, that scene was creepy as hell in some ways, but one of my favorites in the book.
