...so level with me, how many five hour energy drinks can you have in say, two hours? 'Cause one just isn't cutting it.

This building is so depressing on Saturdays.

Oh! To give me something to look forward to--anyone have LUSH recommendations? I think that is what I'm getting my sister for Christmas this year.

Oooh, Lush.

I'm very fond of Flying Fox anything, but especially the showergel. Also the H'Suan Wen Hua hair treatment and the seasonal specials, such as Snowcake, Glögg, Cinders, ...
Oh, and Lemony Flutter! :)

They have some of the most swooningly gorgeous Christmas gift boxes I've ever seen. "SNOW This Christmas" has the most beautiful box, and a lot of gorgeous theme-related products inside. But scent is so specific with some people, you really should try to get a sense of what she favors -- I know that in my own case, getting foody scents like gingerbread, cinnamon vanilla, chocolate, orange and lemon-scented products, or any mint-scent, would make me happy, but getting something strongly floral would not make me happy. With scents, YMMV is a real thing to think about.

Massage bars are an awesome invention, they are designed to have a wonderful feel in the hand and they last a long time, good value for money. Get an enclosed soap-or-massage-bar box at LUSH (they sell a metal one) or at a drug store (I prefer a plastic one that I can stick in the dishwasher) to give it with, because you really do need to protect it or it could collect dust or get the other things in the bedside drawer you stash it in sticky. I love the citrusy organic Therapy bar best!

I know this is going to sound a little crazy, but if you're gonna give her a vividly-colored red or orange bath bomb, you could also give her a nice bottle of Soft Scrub as a joke, if she's that kind of person! (My sister is the kind of freakishly-practical person that would bring a smile to.) They dye your tub like an Easter egg, but Soft Scrub does the trick and gets it white (or whatever color it's supposed to be) again very quickly. Last time I looked, the LUSH boards were all a-twitter about how certain bath bombs dyed porcelain, and it doesn't look like the LUSH company did anything about the complaints with regard to changing products.

I have hit or miss luck with LUSH products but I second the rec for the Buffy the Backside Slayer shower scrub bar. It moisturizes fantastically and exfoliates and smells great. THe only caveat is that it *will* leave your shower/tub a mess.

Sonic Death Monkey! If just for the name. :-D And I love their Fresh Pharmacy facial bar, because I have uber-dry and rather sensitive skin. Coalface would have been good if I'd had oily skin, but it ended up just being painful.

You might also check out villainess.net; they've got some formulations that look *amazing*.

American Cream Conditioner makes your hair smell like cake and, all things considered, it's pretty easy on colour treated hair. Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo is equally easy on colour treated hair.

I swear by None of Your Beeswax lip therapy. And that's coming from someone who lives through nearly six months of cool to freezing weather.

Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Eaze is OMGAMAZING for your hair.

Eau Roma Water is a pretty decent facial toner.

Angels on Bare Skin scrub has been good to me as well. I have really sensitive skin, so I tend to need to stay away from the harsher salt or apricot scrubs out there. AoBS makes my face feel *awesome*.

I always use their solid henna for colouring my hair--very cost effective and you can mix the colours to personalize you own shade. I find it does a particularly nice red on my hair, and lasts much longer than salon colours.

I love the bubble bars during the colder months as that's when baths are more popular. Candy Cane is a great seasonal scent but very sweet.

I live in a dry climate and travel to a very dry climate. I swear by their dream cream and in fact, that's my regular buy. I'll buy other stuff while I'm there, but my purposes for being there is the Dream Cream.

Remember that LUSH shower gel you borrowed from me at VVC? It's called "Flying Fox". I reccommend it to EVERYONE. Also the lotion called "Helping Hands" is really good.

I have many many Lush recommendations - what kind of thing were you thinking of? What scents does she like?

I am green with envy of people who aren't allergic to scents. GREEN I say!

Although I can tolerate the fruity stuff rather well, any recommendations?

The awesomeness of this product cannot be over-exaggerated (I use it myself, hair never more squeaky clean and the scent is fabulous):

Godiva for solid shampoo, rehab for liquid and alternated. Veganese for day to day conditioner, Retread for once a week. R&B is awesome for curly/coarse hair and smells amazing.

I am also addicted to Flying Fox shower gel (pure hit of jasmine, supposed to be good for pms). Smitten hand cream (smells like an almond cookie) and charity pot lotion seems nice and they have little $5 pots right now.

The masks are fantastic but have to refrigerated. My favs are Brazen Honey and Avesha. Cupcake is nice for acne prone skin as is Dark Angel cleanser. I used Angels on Bare Skin as my only cleanser all spring/summer long and it was great (normal/dry skin). I love the Gorgeous moisterizer but it is ridiculously over prices at like $80.

The massage bars are okay - pretty heavy, but smell awesome. I like therapy.
Bath products! The bubble bars are amazing - marzibain is my go-to almond scent. Amandopondo was a hit of rose that was also very nice. Bath Bombs are nice but not as lux - honey bee and vanilla fountain are two standards for me. I love love Ceridwen's Cauldron bath melt. It is a favorite, for sure.

I don't care for Big (shampoo) as it stripped my color (it has salt in it) or Curly Wurly as it weighed my hair down. Also, I felt American Cream and Coulin were not that great at conditioning.

Annnd now I kinda realize I might have a problem. A Lush problem.

Lush, depends on what your sister is into.

I find their bath bombs really fun. My best friend is getting an all-glitter assortment of Avobath, Dragon's Egg, and Fairy Jasmine. Their boxed gifts are also a really good way to start a Lush addiction.
