Have you ever been reading along somewhere and someone you used to be friends with and thought was kind of sane sort of posts (non-fic type of post) in a way that makes you think they have fallen off the humanity truck and are tumbling down the hill of sociopathy toward the river of wish there could be a restraining order?

However, on the bright side, I got to use killfile for the first time and it was very exciting.

*clicks* I wish I could do it again.

Oh, dude, you have no idea.

There's a guy that I used to think was a pretty cool guy, my friend, who went crazy on me a couple of years ago, and he really hasn't shown any tendency to move back to sanity in the time since then. I'd wonder if he had managed to get himself addicted to meth or cocaine or some such, because the only other people I've ever known who were this erratic/hostile/paranoid were either doing too much speed or too much coke for their own good. But looking back, I can see hints of this behavior going way back, and it's been going on for two years now and he doesn't exhibit any of the physical signs that I would expect from long-term substance abuse. Have concluded that he's just a nasty sumbitch who manages to fool a lot of people with a carefully maintained social mask.

Yeah. I've made an effort to avoid him as much as possible, which, considering that he's a part of something that, up until about a week ago, was a major part of my life, was no small trick.

I'm free now, though, and am resolved to walk away and not look back. He's taking potshots at me and people that I love as we're all on our way out the door, but that's okay. He's being so frantic because he's hosed, and he knows it. It's just sad that it had to come to this.
