huh

So self-uterus-ectomies = good idea?

I have been known to contemplate conducting them with a blunt meathook, but when I start screaming for one, somebody usually brings me this amazing medicine called "chocolate" ;-)

I am contemplating the cutting surface of my *letter opener*.

It just *sounds* nice, doesn't it?

Happy metal tinkling together.

...this day needs to end now, for serious.

Hummm...probably not, but I do completely get where you're coming from.

Probably not, but I will admit that it did at least sound like one last night. Ow.

ooh yeah. big fun.

Probably not, but here's food for thought...

Parents remove disabled daughter's girlparts (http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,,1982370,00.html)

Why is it ok to take hers but not the people who *don't* want their parts anymore?

Not trying to stir up shit in your comments, but just wondering out loud...

*dies* I read about that.

I think you'll regret it in the long run.

Btw, you know what's awesome. Thermacare makes these menstrual cramp relief instant heat pads (http://www.thermacare.com/menstrual/index.shtml)-- they might help.

See, those things are the reason I'm able to function as a normal adult in society. Those, Flexeril, and Dove dark chocolate bars.

Try skipping the caffeine, at least on the first couple of days. I know it sounds like the cure is worse the disease, but I swear . . . drinking caffeine makes my cramps agonizing, and cutting it out on the first day or two make ALL the difference.

A friend of mine swears that taking calcium, magnesium, and potassium supplements in the days right before it comes on also helps.

Also, Motrin is your friend.

Grrr, argh! For years, Midol was full of caffeine to combat bloating, for the diuretic effect. There's no caffeine in the current product, but it does seem to indicate that caffeine isn't a good idea for cramps.

From: [identity profile] redfirecracker.livejournal.com Date: 2007-01-12 07:36 pm (UTC)
I read it somewhere, that caffeine will worsen muscle spasms, including menstrual cramps. I forget where . . . but yeah, it's kinda ironic, isn't it -- about the Midol?

Personally, I suspect a secret plot to scam more of a market share. ;)

No, but I have a vague memory of once making plans with [livejournal.com profile] dragovianknight to go on a killing spree involving an ax and a black cadillac convertible, and I'm pretty sure that was uterus-inspired.

I was thinking the same thing last night. It felt like my uterus was trying to crawl out of my stomach via Alien.
I hope you feel better soon.
