For those who aren't SV fen, trying to explain our long nightmare is almost impossible.
Luckily,
svmadelyn and
emrinalexander make a go at it, here and here. READ THE COMMENTS.
Choice moment from
svmadelyn's:
We'll know we're in Smallville territory...
...the day Rodney sells Sheppard out to the Wraith for Sheppard's own good. -

This is totally not a criticism of other people's critiques of the show, seriously. It's just--you really have to see what kind of bar SV set for most of us. I mean, let's put it this way. SGA does not make me flinch when I hear there will be a new episode. That is a huge thing.

From:I can imagine David Hewlett breaking his open and reading the enclosed letter, the first five pages of which will be a compare/contrast essay between Lex Luthor and Dr. Rodney McKay and why Astrophysicists rock so much harder than BioChemists. I get the feeling he would take photos of himself and said fruit basket. Lots of photos. Possibly compromising ones involving avocados.
This would not be the first time he's done so.
Aside -- who are tptb? I mean, who says which writers are hired and decrees how closely the show's bible is followed?
Techinically speaking the execs are Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, but I wouldn't call them the ptb. I prefer to think of tptb as some cosmic incarnation of Michael Rosenbaum, flitting around in a toga and pointing to certain tv shows and going "YES!!" or, sometimes, "NO!!" before laughing and frolicking away.
Yes. Frolicking.
Also, your icon rocks.
Whee! Thanks!
