this day sucked

Thing One

I was kicked out of TANF training because of Slumberparty. As when we planned it, and when I made the reservations, and when I bought my ticket, and right up until yesterday, we were told it was starting November fifth. Oh no, not anymore. It starts the same week I leave, October 18th, and I'm not allowed to miss three days of it. So the long and short of it is, my career track's been kicked back by at least six months, if not longer. The only solution offered was that I give up my time off.

They have got to be fucking kidding me.

I went beyond bitter during lunch. I am Surly and Bitter, and shall remain so, well into November, then perhaps graduate to merely Jaded and Sardonic. Just. Gah.

Thing Two

My desk chair is broken. GRRRR.

Thing Three

On a more encouraging note, the hotel reversed itself and gave me information. Not a fax, but information. I'm too skeptical at thsi point to trust anything I don't have in hardcopy, but I'm calling tomorrow to speak to my reservationist, who was out today, or failing that, the manager.

Thing Four

Because I am just that stupid, I decided to read everyone's reviews of Smallville before watching. Which is, you know, the dumbest idea ever. And if I never, ever, ever read ClarkLex list again it will be too soon for my digestion. That is the most depressing list in creation. I stopped regular reading over a year ago, well after the third and fortieth time The Clex Was Declared Dead. We're now on repetition whatever number, and then, for reasons that passeth my understanding, read it this week, and seriously. My God.

My God.

Plus, no one I recognize except [livejournal.com profile] mecurtin posted, which either means I've been in LJ too long or avoiding SV too long, or hell, both.

You know, just for kicks, post one thing you liked about SV's ep last night that would gently encourage me to watch it? Seriously, I am *wincing* when I look at the DVR.

One thing: Wet!Clark

Honestly, I read all the grousing, but I decided to be shallow in my love of this show ages ago, so it doesn't bother me at all. *g*

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2004-09-30 08:08 pm (UTC)
Mm. Wet!Clark. that is totally always a plus.

Lex is Gorgeous:0)

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2004-09-30 08:08 pm (UTC)
*grins* He really is. Nothing less could have tempted me to want to see him again. My God, he is hot.
SPOILERS......

Clark + shower = teh hot.

Lois! Lois running! Lois making Clark's life difficult! (I like Lois and she is reason enough to watch for me but maybe not for you..) Lois giving Clark cooties! (ha, kidding...sort of...)

Lex kicking Lionel when he's down (metaphorically)

Lex's obsession with the car crash of fate, version 2.0

The Kent parents defending Lex (yes, it was very, very strange.)

Clark acts betrayed...but not in the boring best friend way, but in the totally "oh my god, my boyfriend is a feak!" way.

plus...more Clark! Naked! (or...naked enough at least.)

Lana's boyfriend is very cute.

ur...do you need more? because I'm probably way too easy, since I watch the show good or bad.
*G* I"m easy. I do'nt ask for much usually.

The Kents defending Lex. That's....

Whoa.

*g* The format's a bit of a lark, but we need happy CLex.

Thing the One: That sucks. That's a big difference in start dates. You'd think they'd give you more warning than that...

Thing the Two: Mine is too.

Thing the Three: Yeah, still get a hard copy. *nods*

Thing the Four: I didn't get to see it either, but heard my boy squeeing about it as he watched it... So I can't really share anything.

But then again, it's Clark. And there's Lex. And Lionel. All very hot men.

just a thought....

My supervisor didn't even know. Blew her mind, too. We're all kind of shocked by how this is going down.

The shower scene *OMG*squee* it really is very-very cute. Our boy looks so confused, dripping wet and ... oh, just watch that. Fast fwd on the Lana & New Boy stuff, nothing good there, but the Lana, Clark, Lois awkwardness - eheh.

Also, you must see the first Lex & Lionel scene. Aww, my poor woobie.

You could just skip this epi though. It had good stuff in there that just didn't gel, they mangled what was probably a good script. They took out character development stuff that made sense (like some Lex & Lionel dialog) and crammed in too many other things that could have been done later.

To quote [livejournal.com profile] rosesmove--Love reveals itself in so many ways. So far this season what I see is Clark being the bitchy girlfriend betrayed by his man and wanting to make. him. pay. Clark doesn’t go to Lex because he’s his last resort. He goes to watch Lex squirm. To make him beg for forgiveness, as it were. To show Lex that if he wants to win his honey back, it’s not going to be easy. This is not a friendship gone bad. This is Clark wanting Lex back in his life but only on his conditions. This is Clark’s inner alien overlord making his presence known. Clark Cunt, if you will.

*delicate cough*

Also, we have SV doing its best 'Oz' impression with Lionel getting shanked in the shower, Lex's lip wibbling, um--Clark has some...interesting character development that I'll let you watch and blink at.

...and Lana was...watchable. I mean, my God, you kind of have to see that to *believe* it, don't you?

*pops up from usual lurking, waves hello*

what everyone else said - the clark and lois shower scene, watching lionel get checked out by the other prisoners, any lex and lionel interaction, the only-Smallville-writers-are-this-insane exposition/explanation of the whole safehouse explosion (I laughed out loud) . . .

and lois's reaction when she finds out Clark and Lana were once an item. it's priceless.

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2004-09-30 08:15 pm (UTC)
Smallville writers are on *crack*, I swear. It amazes me what they get away with.

(Hey, I considered it a plus.)

That is *always* a plus.

Mmm. Shanked.

I loved the shower scene. TW has a real talent for romantic comedy, as does ED. Clark was just adorable in parts, and I normally can't stand him. Lana didn't make me scream, and I actually enjoyed some of her interactions with Clark. I don't hate Jason, he's kind of refreshing. And well, Lex and Lionel. Anything with those two, no matter how bad, still needs to be watched:) There were other good parts, but I don't want to spoil too much.

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2004-09-30 08:16 pm (UTC)
*dies laughing* I love your descriptions.

Re: SV, though, Clark and Lois are sparking like the Fourth of July. I'm really enjoying them together.

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2004-09-30 08:20 pm (UTC)
You know, in a few weeks, I'll be able to blow it off with a whatever on it, because it'll set me back, but it's not the end fo the world. But right now? It's just frustrating--even two months notice I might have been able to do something about it, or even shortened my vacation by a day or hell, did a night flight on Thursday so I could go or better yet, done the earlier training class. But three weeks notice is just--urgh. It was nice to see even my supervisor was completely floored by that---everyone got the notice this week, and no one knows why. Urgh.

Re: SV, though, Clark and Lois are sparking like the Fourth of July. I'm really enjoying them together.

You know, I hate to say it, because I love their friendship--but being enemies or wary non-friends, the interaction will probably be just as interesting or even more so. *crosses fingers*

My f-list was big with the lack of love for the episode, but it's not bad. Clark was angry, but I took it more as him feeling betrayed because he cared about Lex so much. Their relationship is not completely over, and there were some good parts of it.

Lana was actually interesting and dare I say it, likable, and her interaction with Lois was very cool. Clark and Lex are not the best of buddies by now, but their relationship is FAR from being over.

I was spammed by the ClarkLex list, and I ended up disagreeing with most of the opinions. I tried to go no-mail, but yahoo was not cooperation today.

And me? I loved just about everything about the latest SV...

Clark in the shower! Oh my God. So funny.

hmmm

If you didn't watch it, you'd miss some very intense and absolutely shivers down my spine conversation between Lionel and Lex!

If you didn't watch it, you would not get to see Ma and Bo all parenty on Clark's behind after Lois gets him in trouble.

You would miss the newest future addition to the CoCK.

You would miss some really intense eyefuckage, because an angry coupld is still a couple is still having way too much chemistry for their own good.

And most of all, you'd miss Chloe!!! You don't want to miss Chloe do you? We missed her for the better part of three months now, don't you think it's time you saw her again?

From: [identity profile] nebulist.livejournal.com Date: 2004-10-01 07:51 am (UTC)
But don't you want to see this (http://www.livejournal.com/users/goss/137388.html#cutid1)?

Honestly, the look on Martha's face alone. I'm sure Lex's towel was on the floor in the original, even if it was off-camera. And there was eyefuckage, and Clark was totally being the bitchy girlfriend. totally.

1. The awkward-Clana-Lois scene? There's a priceless moment where Lois twigs to the likely backstory between Clark and Lana and says, "Naaaah, you two? Really?" with this snarky-adorable wrinkly-nose thing. I laughed my ass off.

2. wet!Clark.

3. Lex-Lionel scenes rocked the house.

4. Michael Ironside as General Sam Lane.

5. The new computer simulation Lex will be rewatching obsessively. Get a sneak preview, plus! See it projected onto his face and neck!

6. Chloe has a cute orange coat on.

Just one? And I don't even know whether you're talking about Crusade or Gone both of which I've just watched this weekend. But anyway.

Thing 1.

Lois. Lois Lois Lois. OMG fuck fuck fuck Lois. Eeeeeeee! Lois. {{Lois}}.

She is the best thing since sliced bread.

Thing 2.

Nudity. Lots and lots of pretty naked peoples. Mmmm.

Thing 3.

Sam Lane! Yes!

Thing 4.

Shirt-free Lex. Yes, I did indeed cover this in Thing 2. but it deserves its own thing.

Thing 5.

Bitter dumped Lex. Relegated!! {{Lex}}

Is that enough things? I could go on, but really, you should be watching. Have you yet?
