this is how you know what beauty is--no, not euler's number, not this time
In the tech world, porn quietly leads the way
Raise your hand--who didn't know this as an absolute statement of fact? Leaving aside sexism and the questionable culture of some or most porn companies--there's not much that gives me hope for humanity as the fact that if you build it, they will make porn that can run on it. It's an expression of our humanity, like the joy that is seeing people blow up shit and being uncomfortably turned on by linear algebra--wait, maybe that's just me?--porn always finds a way.
That is a beautiful statement right there.
Weirdly appropriate with a touchscreen, doncha think?
[Yes, I wrote porn last night. *stretches* I feel better. How about you?]
One of the world's biggest porn companies claimed it had created a way to stream its videos onto the device, skipping the Apple store and its restrictions on salacious content.
The announcement illustrates a widely acknowledged but seldom-spoken truth of the technology world: Whenever there's a new content platform, the adult-entertainment industry is one of the first to adopt it -- if they didn't help create it in the first place.

In effect, he's saying it's like an iTunes for porn -- an online service that lets users buy and access a personal collection of adult videos via their iPads. Of course, the slate computer's browser can already be used to surf the internet for adult content.
That is a beautiful statement right there.

From:There is so much free porn out there now that it doesn't make sense to buy a device, or download an app or whatever.
It does if you want to find what you want. If I want textual porn, I can go to Nifty and play "hope this is readable and no unexpected diaper appearances or watersports" (hint: there will be diapers or watersports, every goddamn time), or I can buy it professionally to meet a basic editorial standard that will have clear disclosure to my specifications (no diapers, no watersports).
Teh same holds true with professional versus amateur anything--payment tends to guarantee a certain professional standard, whereas amateur, diapered people humping carebears on the toilet. This isn't to make a judgment on quality, since the same rule applies to any creative work in how much is good to horrible, but your chances are higher in professional to get what you want without a feeling you can't look at your stuffed animals anymore.
During all the bail outs Larry Flynt and the guy from the Girls Gone Wild movies were asking for a 5 billion dollar bail out for porn. It wasn't even a joke.
It was a joke. Porn suffered during the repression, pretty much like all businesses, but one of the few things that porn has going for it is that it does make money consistently because their budgets can shoe-string fairly easily; even their big budget movies don't often compare to a major Hollywood flick, and to make money fast, they can do it stripped. It doesn't have to be a huge amount to be worth the payoff--when you make a shoestring but standardized production value porn, it's not hard to make the money back.

From:Porn is my rock in an unstable world. Whenever I feel lost or unsure, I can always rely on the fact that, somewhere out there, there's a video of two emo twinks doing it by candlelight to a soundtrack that is heavily reliant on Death Cab For Cutie.
It's comforting, really, when you think about it.
