So there's a theory. Kind of. One I've been tossing around for a bit, though I think the original thought was from Beth, so thank you, chica. Anyway.

I'm trying to get a feel for who makes up the fandom of Smallville currently. This is the first poll I"ve run on LJ, so crossing fingers I can actually pull this off without mishap.

Thanks to Livia for helping shape the questions correctly so I could actually get the information I wanted. Te for suggestions and beta of the question list.

This will run one week. A copy is also in my diary at diary for those who can't use the LJ interface. I'll take answers via email or in the comments.

Here we go.

[Poll #67788]

From: [identity profile] minisinoo.livejournal.com Date: 2002-10-14 10:55 pm (UTC)
Heya -- quick note. Under "fandom #2) you have "het and slash" and "slash and het" as the options, with no "het and gen," so I'm assuming a typo to fix. :-) Then I'll be able to answer. LOL!

Damn

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2002-10-14 11:04 pm (UTC)
There's no actual way to edit the poll now, just checked. Grr. In teh final analysis, I will make the correction to reflect what it's supposed to be, and make note in this entry about the mistake.

*bangs head into desk* KNEW thsi would happen! Grrr.

Because Smallville is my first real fandom, I didn't answer the questions regarding previous fandom preferences. Hope this is clear in the results (assuming the poll worked without all options filled in).

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2002-10-15 05:33 am (UTC)
I've been checking this morning and since every answer is labeled, there doesn't seem to be a problem with whether or not you answer a particular question.

Thanks a LOT for taking the time to answer, btw. *g*

I read the last question wrong so that's why my answer is all out of context.

no problem

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2002-10-15 11:24 am (UTC)
When the poll is over, if you'd like me to make a change to the answer, since I am pulling this from LJ, private email, and comments to meld together in a spreadsheet, I can certainly make the change to your answer.

looking forward to the analysis.

*Grins*

I'm practically bouncing so far. Just reading through some of the preliminary numbers is showing me things I didn't entirely expect when I started.

Hee. This is FUN.

This is fascinating, Jenn--I love polls, I love analyzing statistics. I rarely have time to keep up with LiveJournal (mine or anyone else's), but I'll be checking back to see/discuss the results on this one.

cool

*grins* Thanks. I'm seriously enjoying reading the preliminary numbers--at least a few things came up that, if they pan out over time, I didn't expect at all.

I am really having far too good a time with this.

Now I'm curious--what didn't you expect?

Very interesting. Erm, I'd fill it out, but I'm not in the SV fandom, so....

Um, I just had a question (unrelated to this post, of course): I've been working my way through your X-Men stuff, which I'm loving (it doesn't pull its punches!), and I was wondering, are some of the links broken, or is my computer just dodgy? I wasn't sure if you'd taken the stuff down, 'cos you never really know...thanks.

Ooh. Which links aren't working? If it's just "Not a Straight Line", then that's--er. I really need to get the clean copy out of email and htmlize and upload that one.

*makes note* I tell myself I'll do it every day and always forget. Grr.

Are there any others?

*grins* Cool. Thank you!

You know, when you say "previous two fandoms" in the first question it sounds like you're assuming that now that folks are in the Smallville fandom, they're no longer in the two fandoms they put in the quiz.

I'm not sure whether you actually meant "two fandoms involved with previously that you are not now involved with" or "two fandoms you were involved in prior to discovering Smallville in which you may or may not now be involved." I went with the latter, and I'm assuming that's what you meant.
