lj and deleted comments

Okay, with Lj's new and improved update, question to those that still use or crosspost; how long has it been that when you deleted a message in your inbox, that bolded line saying that i'ts been deleted no longer appears? I went to delete some spam and the deleted message message that replaced the actual message is now gone.

I know this was still leaving that placeholder a month ago since I do a monthly cleaning of anonymous spam. Does this happen if anyone deletes their comments from your LJ or just anonymous or just--something else....?

if it has disappeared it was very, very recently; I deleted a spam comment maybe a week or less ago and it definitely showed the 'Deleted comment in X journal'.

Looking at the support board looks like no one's complained said anything about it. Maybe you deleted the inbox message?

I found another spam and tried again, very carefully. When I looked again, nothing; it was like the message wasn't there. Anything from about four weeks ago that I did my last deletion was fine.

It's not really a big deal, just kind of surprising.

Hm, I tried to delete a comment as spam and just regularly, and both showed up. I don't think it's intentional that this happens.

Anyway, if you find out what's happening as it reproduces or just want to get the support team notified, just file a request ;) I can't file a bug unless I can reproduce, unfortunately.

I just stumbled across your journal while browsing my network. You mentioned the LJ update, so I thought I'd mention that there's a lot of privacy issues/a big bug that's being reported on LJ due to this update. Namely, certain users have complete access to another user's account.

I...am mostly seeing 'people are having problems' and 'some user has seen something' but no actual support requests or outlining of problems. I am not sure what's going on, and some people are just throwing in 'it broke ljlogin for me >:(' instead.

Basically, it doesn't seem like everyone is getting this issue, but there's strong evidence that this problem is out there and happening. So, I just thought I'd let you know. :)

Oh, no worries! Since I came in on the 'Network' link on my DW (which pretty much only means that seperis and I share a community or a subscription somewhere), I really, uh, have no idea who seperis is, never mind anyone else. :)
