fic rec: the high road (morgan/reid)

Watching Criminal Minds always leaves me vaguely in need of something to read, but until now, I hadn't actually thought to look. And lo and behold, an author I know and love.

The High Road by eliandralore, Morgan/Reid (archive-locked). Honestly, I kind of half-ship Morgan with everyone (provided they aren't married) but interesting note; when one binges Criminal Minds and realizes how many times Morgan calls Reid "Pretty boy", that really moves a ship up fast. Plus, I was in the mood for their chemistry so much.

(My other two are Morgan/Hotch and Morgan/Garcia. So you know, Morgan/the world.)

This one definitely hit the spot.

I need to get back to Criminal Minds . I stopped watching it a few years ago because I picked up a Wednesday evening commitment, and then binge watching it on Netflix just slid onto the back burner until I forgot about it. I really used to enjoy that show, and at this point, I think I've missed about half of it.

I was all about the Morgan/Garcia, until the show got cold feet or something and cut way back on their banter, and followed up by giving each of them a more of-their-own-kind significant other. Because series TV is still chickenhearted about the idea of shipping a black dude and a blonde chick, and even more so about the idea of shipping a plump geek girl with any guy who's seriously hot. I mean, Nicholas Brandon cleans up really nice, but the wrong -- or right, I suppose, if the costume department is doing it on purpose -- outfit can make him look about as sex-negative as it's possible for a human male in reasonable shape and good health to look.

(The one time they gave Garcia an actual hot guy to date, he of course turned out to be a bad 'un. This made me angry.)

Pretty much everyone is or should be Morgan-sexual.

(I still have a dream of running across my perfect Hotch/Morgan with h/c with Morgan-hurt, Hotch-comforting him; Morgan desperately needs a blanket, hot cocoa, and comfort sex and fuck knows Hotch needs to comfort and protect someone that survives.)

You probably know of this, but in case not, you might like Shadow Unit. Among other things, it feels a lot like CM fanfic with the numbers filed off. It's text stories structured as a TV series, by several pro authors who like the genre.

I wish there was more Hotch/Morgan out there!

CM is my go to background music tv to have on and I can't count the number of times I've gone through the 12 seasons on Netflix. I just wish they'd get season 13 on there already!
