seperis | tumblr purge - how many of these have I lived through now?

The tumblr purge has begun. I can tell I've lived through too many that I had my standard "here is where I am" ready to go.

Oh, fun.

I know people are upset and everything but other than DW, it's so inevitable I can't even be surprised.

This may be good in that it'll make me do proper posts again. My mental health does seem to do better when i can write my feelings more.

[I was just remembering the blog you had like 2000/2001, the between mailing lists and LJ, because I followed that and then saw that you were on this newfangled thing called LiveJournal :)]

Oh man, in SV. I downloaded the whole thing the old fashioned way: by page. That was back when you had to get on a waiting list to get comment functionality.

Well, that's what I'm doing right now in a way. I'm going through my liked posts, because I use that as a bookmark function and am saving the PDF of every post I might want to reread down the line.

But yes, the olden SV days.

(I've actually been thinking a lot about Ius ad Bellum, bc I was looking at slave fic and so much of it has no concept of broader issues--even in XM fic--and I remembered how much I loved that fic...still do :)

Good slave fic that actually explores the issue is really rare. I'm trying to think of any I read, and honestly, I'll need to look at my old recs.

I friended you back in the day, I think! And we may be Twitter mutuals? I cannot remember because Twitter does not tell me.

I think you were one of the first peopel I friended on tumblr because you were one of the few thta kept the same name at the time.

Who has the energy for more than one name, tbh? (One of the things I've always found mildly bizarre about Tumblr culture, because your username should be your identity! But perhaps I am oldschool.)

Goodness, everyone's suddenly coming home. All the old hands are running around pulling off the dust sheets and changing the bed linen and getting out the good china, and we're bumping into each other on the stairs and in the kitchen and shouting 'YOU! DON'T YOU LOOK WELL!' while clutching at each other's shoulders and so on. It's lovely and chaotic, and more emotional than I'd expected, and also like suddenly fandom might be about conversation again as opposed to monologuing at each other in public or passively reblogging. Maybe. I hope.

But you! Don't you look well! :D It really isn't the same on Tumblr.
