to anyone beta testing inbox by gmail, browser version (chrome)

Just see if anyone else has this and may tell me the obvious:

1.) how on earth do I empty the trash? Or spam?
2.) Is there a select all anywhere here? Or even better, a select range?

Anyone who does not know what this is:

Inbox by Gmail which works in apps best and Chrome browser kind of (so much white space, appear/disappear left nav, not resizable, SO MUCH WHITE SPACE JESUS). There is bundling.

I like it, but I'm missing functionality here that's frustrating.

I read a review of this that said the whole point was to discourage deletion, so they made that a multistep process needing two clicks. It didn't say which clicks though.

I haven't found the second click yet anywhere, so I still got the original gmail to delete trash and spam. I do like it otherwise.

That article claimed that when you delete in Gmail you remove your access but Google keeps the stuff anyway, because they like to have all the data for their advertising algorithm.

As far as I can figure, there is no way to delete trash. Which is ridiculous. I have a lot of gigs I pay for but they'd be full in a year if I didn't delete.

That said, I'm liking it. I think.

The lack of empty trash/empty spam thing is annoying as hell. And the lack of select-all, but the dealbreaker is the empty trash/spam. When I delete manually, there's a reason for it.
