the bear slashes...livejournal
Gakked from everyone. And I do mean everyone.
Livejournal: The Russian Bear Slashes a Social Network which I read at first as "Slashing Bears" and got really, really worried about my flist (I don't want to slash bears. Is that the new thing? Slashing bears? What kind of bears? Can I pretend to slash bears who turn into humans? WTF are you people watching?). Very upsetting.
I mean, the slashing bears thing. This is too! But thank you all for not slashing bears because I love you, but oh my God, I don't think I can deal with that.
synecdochic talks (not about slashing bears!) here and is reassuring.
I feel we should all talk about our feelings, but most of mine are revolving around the fact I'm at work and apparently, I can't take off using the excuse MUST GO HOME AND BACK UP LJ NOW KTHX as that does not qualify as an emergency under current work rules. Yeah, no clue what's up with that kind of crazy. If this is not an internet emergency, I do not know what is.

From:May I remind you about Care Bare gangbang story? Remember, there is nothing on the internets that have not been done before.

From:I went and immediately backed up my lj. I hope that this works out in a 'we get to keep lj' fashion.

From:Just remember that GreatestJournal stopped all maintenance over a year ago and has been running on their backup database, and still the site has not vanished (though okay, it is slow, has no new signups and the icons don't work, but it loads and people still can post). So I think if they curtail their tendency to implement "improvement" they'll be probably able to run the site with fewer people without it breaking down, unless they suddenly decide to cut their losses completely.

From:But damn this makes me uneasy. I mean LJ failed what, a week ago? What if we'd never come back from that white screen of doom? *shudder*

From:"A paw would be nice." RodneyBear grumped as he lost his footing.
JohnBear stopped staring and immediately tugged gently at RodneyBear's arms, helping him upright. He hissed in pain when JohnBear got him close to standing and without thought JohnBear reached out and touched the darkened park of his Tummy.
"Ow." RodneyBear said halfheartedly. "Also. Ow."
JohnBear let his nose rest lightly on RodneyBear's head and then bobbed him gently with it. "Shut up." With closed eyes and tight chest, JohnBear *sparkled*, letting it slide gently over to RodneyBear's injured side.
"Oh." RodneyBear whispered. "Oh."
*FLEES*
