[livejournal.com profile] ithiliana has a post up here regarding [livejournal.com profile] amireal's idea to buy a Variety ad in response to the cancellation of SGA.

I think what weirds me out most is that the idea needs a defense. I mean, I can see disagreement and everything, but really. Pretty sure fandom can support many different initiatives, not just one. We are good at that, being multitaskers and all.

In other news, my dentist called me at work this morning to make sure I was feeling better. I fought the urge to propose over the phone; that sort of thing should be done in person, y/y? Y.

I so, so agree that there are many different things that fandom as a whole can and will do on this issue. We are not all the same, so our responses to this issue will not be the same either. Please don't pigeon-hole us!

Your dentist sounds like a beautiful person and I agree. Marriage proposals should be done in person with flowers. Good luck on that score.

Yes! No pigeons! Let the pigeons fly!

My dentist is awesome.

Well they can fly away from us... Much cleaner that way.

He does sound like the type of dentist I would like too.

:: Yawn :: Work is sloooow right now. And there is no new fic... :: shrugs :: Oh well. Guess I could actually work.

Your dentist posts are reminding me of the crush I had on my orthodentist: gorgeous, charming, black hair, blue eyes, jokes, sexy as hell, and I was in my early teens and adored him, even when he was tightening braces. He encouraged me to BRUSH and I came through braces with NO cavities due to dedicated brushing. He was WONDERFUL!

*sighs in nostalgia although NOT for braces*

*giggles* A crush inspires excellent dental hygiene. I love it.

I had crushes on my teachers too which always resulted in me being in class early, in the front row, all my work done, hanging on their every words, LOVING the classes, and oh yeah getting good grades. I don't know if they knew I had crushes (I would have died if I thought they knew--this went all the way through doctoral program btw but started in 7th grade with great english teacher who let me give a book report every week YAY!), but, well, it worked for me!

...I do not get that. Is it that hard to just *ignore* things like that? I mean, if you see something as being *actively detrimental,* maybe, but I can't fathom that here.

Heh. I remember the time where I organized a postcard campaign in Smallville and someone posted how they felt my efforts would be better spent like, saving the world instead of saving the gay. I HAVE ENERGY FOR BOTH OKAY.

...anyway, yeah.
