Basically, I just don't do enough polls. I feel this is part of my duty as a livejournaler. Also, [livejournal.com profile] thete1 did one, and if Te does it, it is good. So there you have it. It's kind of like peer pressure, but without the actual pressure.

So tell me why you are on this journal, 'cause seriously, I do not buy that I am that interesting. When even I consider the cheese story the height of my entertainingness, well, it's just scary.

Honestly? I friended you waaaaay back because you're smart, and I think I like you. The porn? Added bonus ;-)

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 05:11 am (UTC)
*grins* Porn is always good.

Hmm. I'm remembering when you posted you were going to add me--God, was it that meta on names?

*pondering* Loooong time ago. Hmm.

From: [identity profile] chrisjournal.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 02:43 pm (UTC)
You know, I don't quite remember. It was meta, and I'd either found you on friends-of-friends or in Mint's journal.

Either way, smart was the magnet. That it turned out to be true makes you a keeper. Plus, your work posts make me feel big sympathy.

I, personally, am here because I took a wrong turn trying to find the LJ bathrooms.

*g* Also, your fic is fun and your posts are entertaining.

RIGHT! IT WAS A *RIGHT TURN*. Everyone does this. I mean, I totally undestand, teh bathroom is in an incovenient place. We need a *map*.

You are totally that interesting. And, well, porn, so all is good:)

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 05:13 am (UTC)
*grins* Porn is always a good reason. Porn pretty! Like fire, but somewhat less damaging.

Somewhat less damaging because you remember I've read Somewhere I Have Never Traveled and Handful of Dust. I actually had to take sick days to recuperate.

And then I had to re-read A Life More Ordinary and Fetish to remind myself that life was worth living. *g*

Fandom is sometimes like a huge, extended family. I've been wanting to do my fandom geneaology one day--the crazy cousin in the attic, the leprosy-stricken aunt, that sort of thing. And then I remember I don't want to be killed. *sighs for lost dreams*
ext_2454: (Default)

From: [identity profile] ninasis.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 03:58 pm (UTC)
It really, really is. There are fandoms that I'm hooked on, and I've never even seen the actual show (The Sentinel, Due South). But because my favorite, insanely talented authors are involved I *have* jump in. Cuz even if I'm just staning on the sidelines, blending into the shadows, I still feel like I'm hangin' with the cool kids. *g*

And yes, ,the porn. Ah, God, the porn.

Also because you made Smallville livable, and then starting writing SGA, thus introducing me to good television once again (I nearly wept with joy).
Thanks for making my brain cells stay operable in the face of stupid reality!

*waves merrily* Hi!
Well now I'm here for the cheese story. *g*

Umm...I don't remember why I was here originally -- probably SV porn -- but at this point I'm just here 'cause I sorta like you.
Oh, wait, the cheese bridge feat of engineering story? I remember that. That was a good story.
*grins* Yes, *that* story. The story of my unnatural affinity for cheese.

No matter how many times I think about it, it still strikes me as teh closest I've come to outright insanity.

I think I found your fiction before I even found lj for the first time. I love your writing so much and it's an added bonus getting to share a little slice of your life as well.

I'm just glad you've never minded the silly fangirl over here in the corner too terribly badly. :)

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 05:20 am (UTC)

There was a time when I seemed likely to be sucked into SV fandom and followed your journal, but there was the show itself to contend with and Te was all persuasive so now I am in DC, but like your writing! And that is my story. The end.

HISTORY!

And, you rock in general.

From: [identity profile] eretria.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 06:24 am (UTC)
The sheer joy of reading good stories makes it kind of hard to not read this journal. Plus, your recs. And, uhm, don't get the wrong, but you amuse me far too much.

From: [identity profile] eretria.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 06:28 am (UTC)
Should probably add to the reasons that there was quite a squeal of delight when I saw your name pop up in SGA when I had lost track of your writing since the X-Men days. First thought: Excellent, plotty stories in this fandom again, finally!
ext_2454: (Default)

From: [identity profile] ninasis.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 04:02 pm (UTC)
Isn't that the best feeling! I mean, of course you can always go back and read her SV stories, but OH MY GOD SHE'S WRITING SGA!?!?! My husband has learned to ignore the squeals of joy when I'm on LJ.

Seems like all the really great SV authors have either joined us in SGA, or have migrated over into Supernatural. I have a "real life" friend who is hooked on SPN, and I keep sending him incoherent emails, "Read EVERYTHING this person writes, EVER! Seriously!" If only I could get him into SGA, he would be in heaven.

From: [identity profile] namastenancy.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 06:26 am (UTC)
Good porn but also, interesting journal and commentary. Plus, mortal terror and the fascination that some day you might turn on everybody with fiery vengeance. Now, that should be entertaining.
In the meantime, watching like a hawk for the next story in your Rodney does South America series. Mexico City was just brilliant!

From: [identity profile] frostfire-17.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 08:01 am (UTC)

Because I love your Smallville fic even though I don't *like* Smallville fic. And hey, bonus, now you write SGA, which I *do* like!

Also going with the crowd on this one: you're smart and interesting.

Um, cause I was looking for the LJ of whoever wrote a SV fic and it was yours. Looking at the list I was going "Wait, she wrote this? And this? And this?? Holy mother of..." So it turned out I was your total whore and didn't even know it.

And then you post things like this and, wow, I'm your slave for life. Plus, there's always the chance of fiery vengence. I want a ringside seat and popcorn for that.

I've liked your fics since Smallville, and when I noticed that you write sga I checked your lj every now and then, but then I realised that it's easier to just friend you.

So, basically I'm here for the porn, but I do like your recs and your other writings too. You seem pretty interesting.

From: [identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 05:21 pm (UTC)
Well I was hunting for Clex: skated through a few before I found yours and instantly fell for your rhythm and style. I even pimp you to my friends. Avidly read your fics for ages 'til I got up the nerve to peak into your life and bless you you never tell me to piss off. Though you know I expect it everyday - I am very insecure like that - which is possibly why I haven't friended you yet either.

From: [identity profile] goosegirl9.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 05:26 pm (UTC)
I loved your X-men stories, and when I discovered you had an actual livejournal, well ... I absolutely love to read the day to day natterings of talented writers.

From: [identity profile] beatperfume.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-08 07:36 pm (UTC)
Because you are very entertaining and I lost track of you after X-Men, and I never want that to happen again, even if our main fandoms aren't the same at the moment. I'm sure I will eventually watch all of SGA for the express purpose of reading your fic. (As this is what happened with Smallville, chances are really very high.)

From: [identity profile] clo.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-09 01:12 am (UTC)
Originally for the Smallville porn, because hey, porn! Then I realised I was watching Stargate Atlantis just to understand your SGA fic more, and then I realised I was dropping by your LJ every day -- often a few times -- to see if you'd posted. It got to the point where I needed my daily fix of cheese, awesome writing and cookie!love so much that not friending you was out of the question. Plus, I never get tired of reading your LJ. :) Seemed like an excellent reason to me.

From: [identity profile] flaming-muse.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-09 02:35 pm (UTC)

Largely I think because I've known you for so long already, and I like to keep track of people I've known and still like. And LJ makes this super-easy.

From: [identity profile] innogen.livejournal.com Date: 2005-12-29 07:25 pm (UTC)
I'm not here just for the porn, but I'm adding you to my f-list because someone rec'd your 'Midwinter' story, and I really liked it. I am almost surprised that Teyla didn't stay part of the dance, because that would have been very interesting. Trying to imagine what everyone's lives would be after five years is interesting; trying to imagine how Rodney will change is almost frightening. I hope (yes, I know they are not rl people) they don't go too dark and desperate....

Innogen

So, yes, I'm here for the wonderful fic, and the angst you pour into your journal regarding writing your fic...not just porn. But, if it happens to be porn, hey, I'm there, too!
