*soft purring* Zen through prettiness. Highly underrated.

Dear Jenn,

Your icon seems to feature an ectothermic tetrapod -- that is, a cold-blooded land vertebrate contained under the umbrella of herpetological study.

What's up with that?

Mmmm big words.

*grins hugely* I have a thing for frogs. I mean, not a rabbit-type thing, but--they're cute. I can look on them and be soothed. Very soothed. I can't touch them or I'll, you know, pass out, but yes. Cute.

I see. I just looked them up, because I was curious about their connection to reptiles. You know what I learned? They're actually not very much like reptiles at all. Isn't that weird?

From: [identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com Date: 2006-03-20 01:35 am (UTC)
Amphibians, like gekkos and toads. And also? *Cute*.

From: [identity profile] ubixtiz.livejournal.com Date: 2006-03-20 06:56 am (UTC)
Yes, but what I didn't know was that reptiles, like birds and mammals, are amniotes, but amphibians...aren't. Which seems weird. They're not even in the same category.

I love the fact that there's one on that list I haven't read.

*settles down for a good reading session*

Whoot!

I have them practically memorized. It's like hot-chocolate fic. Wiht extra marshmellows and thick whipped cream. Mmm.

I totally lied. I've read them all. Mind you, it took me the first paragraph of Under The Skin to remember it was the really hot one where John and Rodney write on each other's skin. I need a better title-to-plot memory.

*appreciates the value of zen through prettiness*

I've only read one of those. This fandom is so big and wondrous.

Oh, thank you for those. Two of them were new to me and I curled up with them for a long time last night...and then reread the other three. It was lovely. Great way to spend a cold, rainy night. : )
