so unexpected thing is unexpected
Went to ultrasound; doctor states I have gallstones?
God, that word just lacks style so much. The question mark is more a product of my lack of ability to put this in context or like, you know, wtf? I am going to be consulting with a surgeon, or so my doctor reports. I feel this entire thing is a product of the fact that this morning I was texting
svmadelyn about how pretty the hospital is. And it is! Glass and steel and a garden and all modern and comforting and now, you know, surgery.
Okay, yes, of course I googled, but you know, people who have had this or done this or whatever, give me an idea of what level of panic I need to be graduating to? I am more at the stage of "what the hell".
*sighs and hits google* I reserve the right to be really weird about this for a while.
ETA: I am breaking my soda only on weekends rule. Wikipedia is so very--informative. I've named my gallbladder Horace. If something has this many issues, it gets a name that is easier to use for hating it purposes.

hoping you feel better
From:I've been under general anesthesia more times than I can recall. One time I was under for 8 hours. The surgery itself, laser surgery (when it was fairly new) to reduce the size of the hemangioma on my left vocal chord N throat, didn't last that long. After part of the tumor was burned away, they couldn't get the bleeding to stop. Apparently, my doctor took a break while I remained under (this is typical during long surgeries). He may have actually gone to consult a colleague, but when he told me the story, it sounded as if he was wandering the halls and just happened to run into someone helpful. :D Anyway, they packed the area with ADRENALINE to stop the bleeding. When I woke up, I was rather IRRITABLE. And nauseous and hungover. I always woke up feeling like I'd been on a bender. I don't remember feeling depressed, mainly because I was so damn glad to be alive.
I was always anxious about going under, but it had to be done. Lots of things can go wrong, though usually don't. Srsly, I am not the luckiest person yet I've survived general anesthesia multiple times! \O/
