Combining logging into work with pre-vacation laundry and housecleaning is not exactly my idea of a great Saturday morning. However, Lifehouse's Between the Raindrops does help. Well, music period. For Christmas, my mother bought me ridic awesome headphones--ones I would never buy for myself, that is how deeply awesome they are, they come with their own hard case and detachable cables, plural--so listening to my entire music collection has been a revelation. Dude, the difference.

In weirder news, Samsung gave me a free copy of Avengers for my phone. I love my phone. I would marry my phone. I cannot imagine watching a movie on my phone. Yet there it is.

Vacation To-Do List
1.) Find beach canopy with the foolish belief [personal profile] amireal and I can actually assemble it ourselves.
2.) Actually move it to an accessible location to take it with us if we lose our minds and think we can actually pull that off.
3.) Finish laundry.
4.) Find bathing suits and wrap skirts.
5.) Find all USB chargers for evaluation.
6.) Select media to bring as cannot bring server.
7.) Reconsider bringing server instead of canopy. I could do a lot of programming at the beach.
8.) Make grocery list with the knowledge me and Ami will break it the moment we walk into Central Market and get trapped in the cheese section.
9.) Find the location of the border checkpoint (falfurrias?).
10.) Get Ami a travelers' Spanish guide.
11.) Send her youtube mariachi so the trovadores at Mitierra don't startle her too much.
12.) Go to Texas Meat Market for hot dogs.
13.) Pack favorite cookbook.
14.) Actually do at least a few things on this list.

Vacation Schedule

So far, we think we have a plan. Hotel and condo reservations bear this out.
Monday - Ami arrives! Dinner at Kerby Lane! Apparently pumpkin pancakes.
Tuesday afternoon - train to San Antonio.
Tuesday through Thursday - Explore San Antonio.
Thursday morning - leave for Port Isabel
Thursday afternoon - stop in Corpus Christi for lunch
Thursday-Tuesday - South Padre! Condo on the beach! Balcony! Loafing! Hot chocolate and fajitas and homemade tortillas on the balcony! Exciting cooking! Pirate cruise! ATVs! Horseback riding! Massages! Last three in the same place!
Tuesday morning - return to San Antonio
Wednesday morning - return to Austin/New York and Real Life. Bah.

If anyone is around at any of these places and wants to meet up, please email me! I'll send you my phone number.

Will finish actually work stuff now. *stares at computer* I will feel inspired if it kills me.

Question - if one were to bring a canopy to the beach, is there anything I can use to put on it to track it by GPS? My mother has said I cannot bring it unless I want to replace it, since the last one was stolen. Any help here would be appreciated.
Amazon

Currently most of my recommendations in Amazon for music are Bruce Springsteen. I own one song I bought while writing an AIRPS fic two years ago by Bruce Springsteen and it was from iTunes. I mean, there's being off, and then there's being Bruce fucking Springsteen off.

However, they make up for it with Imagine Dragons Radioactive which is currently competing with Pink's Try, Rihanna's Diamonds, The Lumineers Ho Hey, Muse's Madness and Lifehouse's Between the Raindrops for repeat-one time. All of which I recommend, though yeah, I get The Lumineers are Mumford and Sons with a California accent, don't judge. I blame listening to the radio and the easy of buying with one's phone being surgically attached to one's hand. Goddamn the future.

My Mother

None of us really realized the extent of hte problem until the addition of a new shelving system thing in the garage, at which time while filling it, we all gazed in wonder at a six foot by one foot shelf is filled with--wait for it--Ziploc bags. I mean, not just a lot of Ziploc bags here, I mean all the bags, snack to gallon, freezer-safe, liquid-optional, zip and slide, colored and not.

None of us saw this coming. I mean, we knew Costco's sales did things to people, but until now, the bulk of our storage bags have apparently been spread out in a clever ruse of plausible deniability. Now, there is no denial, merely a sense of nervous expectation, because the question is no longer what shall we store the leftover porkchops in, but why do we need economy size gallon bags that are just the right sizee to hold a human head? (I checked this. Maybe twice.) I mean, there's quart and cup size, so like, conceivably, a human body (or by count, twenty-eight) could be disassembled in some manner and placed in the freezer.

...the freezer isn't big enough, but Costco's sales do not exclude a deep freeze either. This is worrisome.

I'm overthinking this, aren't I?

teen wolf vid recs

Strangely, not as easy to find awesome ones as one might think. But.

Welcome to the New Age - Teen Wolf - All - Really deeply awesome in all ways. Some shaky cutting, but some cut like glass. Gorgeous, is what I'm saying.

Call Me Maybe - Teen Wolf - All The Guys - It's basically the homoerotic supernatural adventures of all the hot guys. It still does not even come close to how much actual shirtlessness the actual show does in a single episode.

Broken - Teen Wolf - Derek/Stiles - Well, okay, I just really like their joint hotness.\

And then there's you - Teen Wolf - Derek/Stiles - it kind of breaks my heart a little bit.

Abominable Snowman - Teen Wolf - Derek/Stiles - It's almost sugar-shock adorable. Oh Stiles.

Sourwolf: A Sterek Production - Teen Wolf - Derek/Stiles - I would watch the shit out of this movie like, every day.

ETA:

Just found this one:

Radioactive - Teen Wolf - All - Another version of Radioactive. I don't know how to describe how well it works, but it does amazing things with cutting and the text additions make it haunting, which rarely works with vids like this but here is unbelievably effective.
