Or rather, why I'm reconciled, since Mr. Dentist is fitting me in at two for checking on the chipped tooth. That only took two weeks of whining. *grins* I've had worse stats.

Started putting nominations in spreadsheets this weekend and working out how to verify which nominations came from which person at which time during what day. Of course, the obvious answer eluded me at first, until I remembered that each LJ post had a link, so therefore, documentation! Comforting, that.

Vaguely mopey with runny nose and short two at work. *sighs* Stupid training. I'm sure there's a positive to this one, but it's, frankly, exhausting as hell. I think about work and my head hurts. But, I'm becomign more poly in my translator choices--either that, or Juan's on vacation. Hmm.

Third night and still scared of The Ring. This isn't a record--witness my weeks of ickiness after Candyman and that bathroom stall thing that, should I have had any desire to be a doctor, vanished with that bit of intestinal trivia. Of course, I was like, eighteen when I saw that. You'd think a near decade later would, I don't know, help. Garrr.

I need--chocolate. And also, a really big pile of purple post-it notes. As I am down to yellow, and how creative can one be on yellow anyway?

Wonder if I can use a marker and MAKE them purple....

I have never seen Candyman, nor do I intend to ever do so. I refuse to say the repetitive phrase that will rouse him.

Me, superstitious? Nah. I'm just scared of the possibility.

Hmm. I would sometimes as a teenager/early twenties get the creeping sensation that I was not alone in my home, and would just have to flee my house, get outside for several minutes.

Of course, now that I'm in my early thirties, the fact that I have unicorn posters and paintings and figurines plastered in every wall of my bedroom, and at least one in every room in my house, is nothing but an elaborate protective ritual. I KNOW they're not actually potent forces, but it makes me feel a heck of a lot safer.

Sad, sad, sad.

You know, and I regard that as good old-fashioned common sense.

"Hey, there's a legend that watching this videotape will cause you to die in seven days."

Person in movie: "Let's watch it."

Me: "Okay." (tosses tape in trash) "I'm just going to go rent Halloween again, 'kay?"

I have a bad reaction to the good creepy horror movies. Last time I went to see one was...Candyman. Well, it got good reviews so there I sat, scared shitless. Erm, yeah, that was fun. Decided never again to go to the theater to watch one.

Fast forward to last year and I keep hearing how good The Ring is. I decide to wait to see it at home, safer. First 10 minutes and I'm averting my eyes. Argh!!!

And good morning jenn *smooch*

I like the way your mind works.

I *had* to watch Candyman for a high school class. I liked the second one better than the first. The second one goes more into the issues surrounding mixed race marriage. They had an interesting plot, for horror movies. Still, major ick factor, and pretty creepy. Poltergeist scared me more when I was a child. Dead bodies popping up through the floor are creepy. Let's not even start with clown dolls that come to life and drag you under the bed. It would probably be healing to watch it again, and point out the outrageous scientific problems with the movie.

I have not seen The Ring. (Nor Candyman, for that matter.) I was once kept awake all night after having watched a Nova special on that semi-mummified 3000-year-old Ice Man they found up in the alps a few years back. I do not watch horror movies. This is why.
