Read it RIGHT now. In which I haven't been this creeped out in such a long damn time. Absolutely--chilling. And so subtle it hurts. And only one thing needed to change.

That fifth part is gonna kill you, but do yourself a huge favor and read it straight through.

Heh, thank you for the enthusiastic rec, I'm glad you liked it. :) Now tell me the one thing I need to change? I fixed the typo in Bas's name *blush* I think I finally fixed the rest of them (my editing brain went nuts today) but if it's about the Autumn section, drop me a note and I'll tell you why I did that the way I did that. It was on purpose. :)

I think she meant that only one thing had to change in this alternate universe in order to create the ending, with all its vaster implications. Beautifully and economically done.

Part five is incredibly chilling, indeed. How does she do that with such an economical turn of phrase and characterization? It's unnerving and I think I just might be jealous.
