You know, my job kicked into high gear (and gmail is batshitting in weird themes and losing things at a terrifying pace), but I resent that so much less than I do the fact I apparently completely skimmed over (by that I mean, missed by a mile) OTW election wank.

It's almost like the classic coming of age story. Except there are too many initials and no porn--by a classic coming of age story, I mean, a fannish one, with smut.

There's election wank. I don't even know what to do with that. I mean, besides read it.

God, I know.

Like, really, I build software for a living and someone people that pay me money to do so are far more forgiving and understanding than these assholes.

I was wondering what was wrong with me that when I'm testing and filing defects, I don't tell the developers to shoot themselves in the face because I don't like the colors.

I don't tell them that when the entire system collapses and I'm working eighty hours a week to test the new deployment. I mean...no.

You know, I love testing teams. They tend to quite rationally hand us over lists of defects they found with supporting documentation and reproduction steps for each. Could you imagine a testing team full of these fen? Their supporting documentation would probably be a diatribe about how personally there were offended by each defect. I bet these people would enter cosmetic defects like colors they don't like as Severity 1s too. UGH.

*grins* Our is 0 (cosmetic) through 5 (DEFCON 5000) in two separate categories and I was actually kind of trying to figure out how I'd rate some of these. My default at work is a three or four (three, has workaround, four, does not have workaround) unless I'm reading their source code for weird margin errors.

IDEK what the color thing was about. I mean, I didn't notice (light grey backgrounds are kinder when I'm not wearing glasses anyway), so I'm not even sure.

Yeah, that sounds good! It can be hard to identify what to rate a defect. I've had testers mark an issue as low priority and then I look at it and immediately identify it as high because it's also a security risk or something. And the opposite happens! Hard to avoid, nobody can think of everything!

I noticed the color was a bit different, but I don't care. I do most of my AO3 reading on my phone in the dark, so it's actually better on my eyes, LOL.
