note for readers here

Okay, so I'm still on the fence about importing, considering a lot of people are uncomfortable with their comments ending up here, so. While I think on it more, if you still want access to flock over there, and you gave up your LJ completely, I can friend your open ID, just email me at seperis at gmail.

I am seriously going to try to remember to crosspost. In my defense, I'm just not used to crossposting and I've been insanely busy the last month, so I forgot to do it consistently. Not everything will be crossposted; some here and some there, but probably most of it if I can get in the darn habit of it.

Er, that's it. It's been a long month. God, it's been a long month.

I have my DW set up to automatically crosspost to my LJ, which saves me the trouble of having to remember to do it. If I don't want it to crosspost to my LJ, I just uncheck the tickybox at the bottom of the post entry screen. If I restrict the DW post to my access list, the crossposted entry goes under general friendslock on my LJ, which is kinda nice.

Of course, that requires me to post initially from Dreamwidth, which may not be what you're looking to do, but it's been working well for me so far!

What she said! And it's really easy to set up, right here:

This is exactly what I do, and it is awesome. It's easy and it's a one-step process -- I don't have to remember to post anything a second time, because the crossposter handles all of that for me. :-)

I still find it weird that some folks are distressed to have their comments imported (in context, as part of the conversation) along with the journal entries to which they are attached, but it's become clear to me that I'm never going to intuitively understand that perspective, and I doubt that I'm going to be able to convince anyone to see the situation in the way which is intuitively clear to me *g* so I'm just staying out of it.
Um, this is totally off topic and you don't know me, but anyways, for some reason I only just found your essay about loving Romance Fanfic and I have to say I'm totally with you on the "Coming Home" front. It hits every button I've got (especially Rodney being the only one who can control John when he's in insane!protector mode) and I skim through it every month or two. Also "Hiding in Plain Sight", actually, which is the iconic Gibbs/DiNozzo fic for me now, which really sucks because nobody else seems to measure up. (I liked "Affair to Remember" too, but I really hate disability endings with no obvious hope- I'm in a service profession and it's too close to real life to be escapist for me. But up to that point it was great.)

And hey, if you want to start a challenge or a comm or something for Harlequinesque McShep, I'll totally be there, though I'm just getting back into fanfic after a hiatus and have never actually finished a McShep piece.
