sodastream in a time of coronavirus

If anyone has a sodastream or equivalent, I'm trying to get Orange Vanilla Cola to work, since Orange Vanilla Coke now qualifies as an addiction.

This is the closest I've gotten so far for 1 liter:
1 tsp Molina Mexican Vanilla Blend Extract
1/4 tsp Simply Organic Orange Flavor

The vanilla isn't the problem, as this is my favorite vanilla and it's working; the orange is throwing me. I can't tell if my proportion is off or the type of flavoring; I can sort of taste th orange in aftertaste, but it's also a little bitter. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free.

Orange oil flavorings are always a little bitter; I'm a fan of Torani and Monin for syrups, and Da Vinci's line of sugar-free are not terrible. I got a thumbs-up from [personal profile] silveradept for Monin Sugarcane Cola, Torani Vanilla, and DaVinci sugar-free Orange.

Blackcurrant is one of my favorites, and cola + black cherry.

Silver has been missing Faygo Redpop, and I'm happy to report that immense amounts of strawberry sno-cone syrup, a splort of Karo syrup, and a little bit of bubblegum sno-cone syrup works out great. Raspberry, cherry, pomegranate, and rose can all go in that as well.

I mostly use my Sodastream for sparkling water, and haven't tried making colas, but two things I like are:

* 1/4 teaspoon rose water to 12 oz sparkling water
* 1 tablespoon tonic syrup stirred vigorously with a double shot of espresso over ice, with 12 oz sparkling water

Also sparkling water with a couple of dashes of orange or cherry bitters is lovely.

If you enjoy shrubs, they make an excellent addition.
