So I had this entire grumpy post, and now I do not.

This is why.

[personal profile] thefourthvine sees girls lining up to watch the three AM premiere of the movie Eclipse.

Oh, and girls? Please don't laugh along with people you think are laughing at you. Nothing you're doing is stupid or embarrassing. You care about something. You love something. It's important to you, and that makes it valuable. If people think that's funny? Please, please: just tell them to go fuck themselves.

I wish this could be handed out on embossed cards. And not just to teenage girls.

I'm starting to value female-based fandom less because of the things girls seems to be fans of - not because there aren't enough explosions but because look at this crap.

Not because it's brainless, but because it shows women as less and women eat it up. What does that say to men?

...are you fucking serious?

We used to have at least a passing acquaintance at women I could look up too, and now they are becoming fewer and fewer. Why should I dismiss the content of something because women like it? I'm not going to be a fan of something that I find offensive because it's female driven.

Why the hell would I celebrate a female based fandom for a movie with a female director when the original storyline is all male oriented. I'm not suddenly going to be okay with this message because a lot of women enjoy it.

I'm only kind of serious. Mostly this is because I am mad at you for telling people to buy a song by Emimem, a known homophobe, and woman hater, after you spread all these signal boost fandom arguments. I don't find that kind of thing very funny.

I think you should get a squishy ball for stress and squish it. They also do wonders for hand cramps.

Okay, I was wrong, it's called a stress ball (http://www.promotionalstressballs.co.uk/).

I'm only kind of serious.

Maybe a troll-shaped stress ball? Interesting, relevant, and powerful arguments have and can be made against Twilight and the Twilight franchise, and you chose I want boys to like me as an argument base?

Wouldn't it have been easier just to, you know, comment on the Eminem entry? Y'know. Less stressful.

OPPRESSION.

[identity profile] porntestpilot.livejournal.com 2010-06-30 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I want boys to like heterosexual women actually, but the point of trolling is to be over the top with it.

[identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com 2010-06-30 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I'm pretty sure the point of trolling is to initiate and/or escalate argument/flamewar/fight for the purposes of amusing yourself by upsetting/insulting/deriding others.

You mean your preferred method of trolling is over the top commentary. Have fun with that.
