Shame is for those who didn't secretly read these during class during formative junior high years.

I desperately wanted to secretly read them in class but the waiting list at the school library was always stuck at maximum (20 people)! So I read Clan of the Cave Bear and sequels instead!

Tragically, I grew up in a town with no bookshop (not even second-hand). It was libraries or nothing for me, hence I have weird gaps in my pop culture education depending on what was considered not appropriate for kids/teens at the time!
