No one said Spock is a total bitch This is very important information. Information that makes me happy. I've never seen anyone, anywhere, insert the word fuck, wordlessly, silently, unmistakably, into so many sentences in my life. Totes impressive.

I was realizing the other day that there's potential for Kirk/Spock to be written as an EPICALLY fucked up abusive/dysfunctional love story.

Also, I'd argue that Kirk's masochism is as much if not more canon than his asphyxiation kink.

There have been a few fics involving erotic aphyxiation already and definitely some that touch on Jim being a huge masochist. There was one that came out the other day that actually took place during the scene where Spock was strangling him and Jim was written as getting off during the scene, right there on the bridge *giggle*

I like the idea that maybe with Spock and Uhura, while they're good and in at least the beginnings love, and a little kinky, there's this pretty deeply controlled streak of sadism/dominance in him that she can handle parts of, but that he'd never want to fully express with her, and that she'd never feel into/comfortable with going to the harder edges of it.

Also, I know there's already a decent splash of "Kirk as abused kid" out there, but one thing that just occured to me re: the "vulcan bullies scene", it occurs to me that Vulcan children are frighteningly smart and, apparently, capable of cruelty. If that's the meanest/most fucked up thing they did to young Spock I'll eat my hat. They can't be under adult supervision 24/7.

Not that that necessarily has to manifest itself with S/M predilections. But. It could inform them in an interesting way.

Yeah, I would say that those kids? Were HORRIBLE to Spock, and I want to get into what that has meant, and how that comes out to Kirk, etc. That is really fascinating to me.

I'm guessing they were horrible to Spock right up until the day, perhaps a year or two after the weeSpock fistfight incident, he cooked up some TERRIFYINGLY vicious revenge on someone who kept fucking with him. Like, something permanent that could never ever be linked conclusively to be him, but that EVERYONE KNEW it had to be him. But they could never prove it.

And after that none of them liked him, still, but no one ever fucked with him again. I think he's got a serious mean streak he keeps in check. Not to anyone where it's unjustified, but still.

I mean... MAROONING JIM ON THE NEAREST PLANET?

That's seriously kind of fucked up. OTOH, he's not supposed to be aboard anyway.
