it's the starships that do it for me

Okay, I cannot stop watching the new(est) Star Trek trailer. I have this strange, sick feeling I am going to like, cry in the theatre just seeing the credits or something. I mean, it's not like this would be a surprise.

For the five people who haven't seen it yet Go to Trailer 3.

Just. I mean. Why the hell isn't it May? Why isn't it May?

(Also, after describing the current story I am working on to [livejournal.com profile] niqaeli, she was silent for like a full second before gleefully shouting "IT IS LORD KING BAD FIC" and yes. Yes, it is. And it is like, eleven thousand words of it. There's a very real part of me that really thinks I could totally get someone pregnant just to see what would happen.)

Spaceships, man. Spaceships!

And I still fail to see how getting someone pregnant is supposed to be a bad thing. I've done it (http://suaine.livejournal.com/548100.html). Arthur didn't seem to mind much.

*looks at you expectantly*

So, tell me about it. IN DETAIL.

I have seen the new trailer, and I am still trying to figure out if Pike's "Your father was captain of a starship for 12 minutes" line means Final Frontier is magically (bizarrely) now canon.

Either way, tho...

GEORGE. AND WINONA. PLAYED BY REAL HUMAN BEINGS! ZOMGCANON!

Every single time I hear the whole "to boldly go" speech I cry. Big, bawling crying. OF JOY. So yeah, just seeing the opening is gonna be tears for me. XD I am not even that into Star Trek! I just have this huge, painful love for the universe! Also a huge, painful love of Kirk! :D

Lord King Bad Fic -- hee!

I just wrote a short piece of fic which is totally wish-fulfillment. I mean, it's a pwp coming straight from my id. There is nothing redeeming about it at all. It's one of those old hoary classic clichés. But you know what? I don't care! Because it was really fun to write, and hopefully it will be fun to read, even if it has no redeeming literary value. *g* So I support your LKBF on principle.

ETA: and yes, I am totally going to weep buckets as soon as I hear the opening notes of the theme music in the theatre when the ST movie finally comes out. OMG. :-)

True story, I almost started crying at the first trailer. The one that was like, some NASA audio clips and a guy a welding and I was all THIS IS CHEATING...until Nimoy said The Words.

WHY isn't it May yet? I feel like scifi fans should be first in line when the time machines are passed out, and yet I still don't have one.

OMG YES!

I got hit by it when I was watching Heroes on Monday and I spent the next hour making longing whimpering noises because it wasn't May yet!

It needs to be May. *fervent*

Holy shit! Being one of the five people in the world who *always* is behind the times, I hadn't seen this most recent one. a;ldkfnd;lkfdnasdlfkm!!!!

I got chills. And yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll tear up, too. Lots of layers of memories, piled on top of the sheer awesome dreaming-reaching-boldy-going-ness of it.

Ooh, why isn't it May indeed? Between this and the new Wolverine movie, I will implode before May ever gets here.

Oh, and also...

Since I know you've been waiting... NBC has officially announced the Merlin "Series Premiere Sunday, June 21st 8/7c"! Heeeeee....

Among the five, yes.

I haven't watched the second trailer and I'm already shipping Kirk/Spock when I certainly didn't before.

I want to see this movie. Now. Slowly. In small pieces. So I can savour each bit.

Haven't been watching trailers online, which means that one of the highlights of my Watchmen experience was not realizing I was seeing a Star Trek trailer before it until the kid gave his name as James Tiberius Kirk.

And I've been contemplating taking the premiere day off for the Wolverine movie so I can A) have a three-day weekend but most especially B) go to the midnight premiere and not have to get up and go to work the next day.
