(no subject)

So my day has been--a day.

1.) itunes abruptly asked me what library I wanted to use. Then it lost some of my music. I found it eventually, but it was very annoying and reminded me to keep copies not only in the itunes folder, but also in the MP3 folder on my desktop.

I have no idea what was up with that.

2.) Dumbledore gay. That's--huh. Not really a surprise.

3.) Visited on-duty doctor today. Have medication. X-rays on Monday. Wish I had coffee. Chem professor allowed missing test today.

4.) My flist is very, very active today.

5.) Oh! Confirmed that my middle sister is going to have a girl. This will make shopping a *lot easier*.

6.) My life is indeed this boring.

7.) Note to ltlj: the John h/c is now nineish pages and has a plot. I--don't know how that happened. It just--just does. *blinks*

You know, I need more interesting news. Like, I don't know--wild thought--I went to Egypt this weekend and contracted plague. See, that would be interesting. And very disturbing. But interesting.

Maybe you should just blog the adventures of quantummirror!jenn...

[identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
*thoughtful* That would be interesting. I could have an lj called QuantumJenn (or QuantumSeperis) that will blog my much more interesting imaginary adventures!

Oooooh.

*nod*

Right, and with infinite potential quantum universes, as long as you can construct a possible fork from any time in your life, anything would be possible, no matter how unlikely it seems, especially if it's in conjunction with forks in other people's lives.

I just fished two feet of silver jewelry chain out of a cat?

...do I want to know?

She has weird tastes. We've done this before. I always get bitten. Also frequent: spools of thread, rubber bands, hair scrunchies, and those rubbery gels you cover the little headphone ear buds with.

This is not so bad though. When he was still juvenile, my dog ate three brand new dress shirts. And then he ate the clothesline they had been hanging on. (Also, whole coke cans.)

[identity profile] teenygozer.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Are you sure those are a cat & a dog?? And you haven't mixed them up for domesticated *goats*???

[identity profile] justascream.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Er...well, one meows and the other barks. No hooves or horns...I hope they aren't goats in disguise, because that would be a fantastic opportunity in wacky science to exploit passing me by.

I just made a knife holster out of camoflauge duct tape for a halloween costume? But it has a real knife in it. Apparently you can get lock backs for 94 cents at Walmart. Their hunting section is... interesting.

[identity profile] deadlychameleon.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
But! They only sell knife holsters as part of a package deal with one or two specific knives! Despite the fact that they sell lots of knifes. And um. I've seen Machetes. for $10. *amazes* Apparently they're useful for gardening. And killing zombies!

[identity profile] justascream.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
And halving melons. I love my machete. I think I have some sort of blade...thing. Fetish is not the word. I want a cane knife, and this is why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ps1XvAE7GM#

I also want to get a nice kukri as well.

I don't get blades at WalMart for serious purposes though, since they seem to frequently have unexpected or inconvenient weaknesses that show up at the worst times. I'll go to a sincere weapon or cutlery store for serious stuff.

Also, dude. They have CHROME duct tape, did you know? Woosh.

[identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, that is *cool*.

1) Never hold down the shift key when opening iTunes. :)

3) You're going to take the medication, right? No more disappearing into the black hole of phlegm just to take a few-day well-medicated vacation.

7) *points and laughs*

[identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
1.) Really? *blinks*

3.) Am taking now! *nodnodnod*

7.) I hate you. If John's puberty wasn't so--God, so *hideously embarrassing*, it woudl be easier. I *twitch* when I'm writing it. I don't know if I've added since you last looked, or if you looked recently, but--I just--I thought I could make it funnier? And that's totally not working. Gah.

And I hate you. It was going to be cute cold h/c! And now, not so much. *bitter*

[identity profile] miss-porcupine.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Holding down the shift key when you open iTunes automatically forces it to ask which library you want to use. I know it was a much-wanted feature, but... I used to be completely anal retentive about storing my music. I had folders by genre, folders for albums, meticulous file naming procedures, etc. And then I got iTunes and now everything gets thrown into folders by month and I can't be bothered with sorting on my hard drive, let alone sorting in libraries for iTunes. I run iTunes Library Updater weekly and that's it for maintenance.

I have been reading -- it's part of the reason I've gone mine open right now and am futzing with it (the challenge will be to keep it under 20K words; the longer I have to futz, the longer it gets and I'm already creeping up to 19K). My embarrassment squick has empathy for you. The rest of me is laughing, though.

Somewhat related: saw the Lorne parts of "Doppelganger."

[identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
*brightens* You totally need to write Lorne Doppelganger fic. He's barefoot! With a weapon pointed at Sheppard! Yoni will MOCK HIM AND THEN ASK WHY HE DID NOT SHOOT!

*hopeful*

[identity profile] miss-porcupine.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yoni will MOCK HIM AND THEN ASK WHY HE DID NOT SHOOT!

... it depends on whether or not Yoni and the marines got quarantined for being in contact with Lorne. In which case Yoni may try for a weapon and then blame it on the crystal thing.

But I suspect Sheppard is having the most fun with this. Lorne -- who, much to some doctors' disappointment, is demure even when sleepwalking and got dressed first -- is finally the one to go crazy and Sheppard gets to clean it up.

Oh, would that I could play this for laughs.

[identity profile] seperis.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
*wide, liquid, very sick-girl eyes*

I offer ficness to you. Ficness that isn't even Teacher's Pet. And I will even be monstrously strong and offer non-slash.

*patient*

Come on. I can totally *sense* your wavering. You wannnnt to. Lorne getting dressed except for shoes? And sleepwalking? And Sheppard leaning on something and asking, so the crystal thing was just an excuse to shoot me, wasn't it?

*tempts*

SOLELY because you're ill.

[identity profile] miss-porcupine.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
"The marines want to get a bell for you to wear."

"A what? Why?"

"They don't want you wandering off in your sleep the next time we go off-world."

"Have I ever wandered off in my sleep when we've been off-world?"

"No, but you've never tried to frag Colonel Sheppard before, either."

"Purely a numbers thing. I was probably overdue, all considering."

"We are all overdue on that one."

"I meant the alien influence thing, Doc. Not shooting the Colonel."

"Pffft. I think it's going to be an Athosian bell; Ortilla wants Reletti to ask Teyla."

"There's not going to be a bell."

Yay, plot! That's the best kind of h/c. :drools in anticipation:

*pitiful look* It's all--stuff. And mysterious freindly people! And fevers! And--

*whimpers*

*SHRIEKS*

OMG I DID NOT.

That is--God, hon, that is utterly, utterly gorgeous. Just--wow. And very sensual and soft and just--I can't adequately describe. *Hugs* Beautiful. Just plain beautiful.

*hugs hard* Thank you!

Dumbledore gay. That's--huh. Not really a surprise.

So, I told Greg about that whole thing before we left for Chuck E. Cheese this afternoon, and when we got back he sat at his computer for a minute, gave me the hairy eyeball, and said, "EVERY ONE of my forums now has a thread about Dumbledore." And his most-visited forums are all about... Celtic music and webcomics and kung fu and woodcrafting and shit. *hands*

You know, I need more interesting news.

If it's any consolation, today I got up, had breakfast, got the paper, sat down, read for hours and went online.

I am totally one that needs more interesting news. :)

[identity profile] thepouncer.livejournal.com 2007-10-21 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Dumbledore news was totally not surprising. I was reading Deathly Hallows and got to that part, and wondered if she *meant* for me to read it as a grand Dumbledore/Grindlewald passion, and now I don't have to wonder!

I went to a Haunted Forest tonight. And survived both the Grim Reaper AND a chainsaw murderer.

There was also a hayride.
