Entry tags:

dreamwidth and crossposting, try three

And lets see if making sure my username and not my email is in the username slot.

ETA: And that worked!

ETA 2: And crossposts edits as well, it seems.

It cross-deletes, too. *g*

*is playing with it*

ETA: It overwrites any edits you make on the other journal, though, if you try to edit the DW entry. Which means it'll be useful for some things for me (regular chatty posts), but not for others.

OH LOOK AT YOU, MISS SMARTYPANTS. *g*

I'm going to play with this more in the morning. Like, after I've slept.

This is so awesome. I just tried x-posting to LJ and IJ (a private entry though, because I don't want to spam everyone with my testing squee and couldn't think of actual content), and it worked great. Editing too. This will make x-posting so much easier for me.

It doesn't recognize friends groups, though. I mean, not too much of a surprise, but disappointing.

And crossposts edits as well, it seems.

The temptation to ditch work and go test this right now is SO STRONG OMG.

While you're testing stuff, I wonder if I could ask something? I read you on my blogreader, and you're one of a few people on LJ for whom posts come up as subject lines only, with neither a full nor partial feed. So: is there any chance you'd be willing to switch to full-feed?

I should be clear: I enjoy your writing and your ramblings more than enough to click through, and I'll keep doing so if it stays this way. But if it's not something you're wedded to, I'd really love to not have to.

Thanks for thinking about it!

Um, how would i do that? I didn't know it didn't work.

Honestly, I have no idea! I wouldn't call it not working per se, just ... working differently. Some non-LJ bloggers do it on purpose, especially those who need ad revenue. But I didn't even know it was an LJ option until I started following you and [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon on my reader; you're the only two I know of that aren't full-feed.

Maybe there's something in the options?

*curious* Check it now and see if it shows in full. Or whenver the syndication next updates.

It does! I am super impressed. :)

Thank you, very much!
