Seriously, mineral rights? It's at the level of 'I had ancestors that thought of that?'

DoA is thrown around so much it's almost a byword and meaningless, but it's such a fascinating thought experiment in how much and how little context matters. It's the essence of remix, and stripping a text to words alone is perfectly acceptable in acts of creation, but we can't pretend that's not what we're literally doing. There's nothing wrong with the meaning changing by interpretation, but text doesn't fall from the sky without interaction with man until it's read; the original matters and it came with inherent intent. We can have both.
