*nodnod* SO MUCH. I always felt they never really explored this part of Kirk's past enough, EVEN in the books. That'd make a great movie backdrop. Hell they could even parallel it with some of what we're talking about in other threads. The redshirt planet, the idea that maybe carol marcus's research is being implemented WAY early to recreate a vulcan homeworld (and Spock Prime should know better but he has 100 years of science on Carol's original idea and maybe there are REASONS) and, and, and, STUFF.
