After what we saw of how Shaw treated Erik, if he was the one that got Emma out of that institution when she was committed--I was reading some of her backstories--what he'd do to a sixteen year old girl...yeah. Reading her in the movie through teh medium of being trained by Shaw--and let's just admit it was probably both physical and sexual abuse as well as emotional--I kind of would hold him still for Erik, too.

I keep thinking how she glanced at her projection with that guy and the disgust was just--yeah.
