That doesn't bother me. We have specialists for everything, why not for that? Whenever I'm really upset with something going in fandom that involves outside forces, I tend to donate money to the OTW. That makes me feel better and I can continue to enjoy my fannish space without becoming a meta warrior.

I think it wouldn't bother me if it wasn't quite so--inaccessible to figure out what I'm being protected from. I am fundamentally--and this does not show on this LJ, I know--really retiring about this sort of thing. But fandom is so personal in so many ways, my participation is already required by virtue of existing in it. So I am okay wiht other people taking up the banner, but I really want to know what they are doing, since again, existence here is participation.
