more recs, yes, I know, but this is how I reward myself!

Recs! Yes, I know, but I am rewarding myself for twenty pages of editing, so I am allowed to procrastinate and rave about awesome fic.

I'm trying not to theme by author, since in general, if I like one story by an author, it's fair to say I'll like everything by them, so probably only one story by an author per rec set.

Star Trek Reboot RPS - Zach/Chris

Mancrush by [livejournal.com profile] withthepilot - my love for this is pure and giggly and awesome. Also, she totally had me at the title.

Hang Me Up to Dry by [livejournal.com profile] 1297 - this is delicious, delicious, delicious porn with a taste for exhibitionism. Yes, I know, I love this fandom. And this author, for that matter.

Take Me Out by [livejournal.com profile] winterlive - Zach/Chris/Zoe, Zach/Chris - this was a very clever plan. I love threesomes with bisexual epiphanies, and this one is smoking. I also love winterlive and am trying to set up a cult in her honor. Apply in comments for junior priestess positions, plz.

Inhabiting by [livejournal.com profile] gigantic - bar none, this is one of my favorite stories. It's slow and meandering and builds a relationship from the ground up and seamlessly translates to romance until it feels there's no other way this ever could have gone. It's even better in re-read.

It's a Bright Day (Even If You Stand in the Dark) by [livejournal.com profile] xsunnydayx - This is another in the re-read regularly category. I'm trying to think of a way to get across how pretty this one is, but just, you know, go for it.

Poll, As I Am Bored

Okay, so. Because I like to please, and also, because I can't think of what to do next, pick two fandoms you'd like to see me rec from and if I have stories from them, I'll do a rec post on the two most checked.

[Note; I haven't updated my rec page in like, a year, so believe it or not, I have like, five hundred unsorted recs, some not even marked yet. This is getting intimidating. This will help me hunt them down!]

even though I only occasionally write or read it anymore, and if I do write it, it's almost always just for myself, I can't imagine ever NOT defining myself as in LOTRIPS. it wasn't my first fandom, it wasn't my last, but it's the one that I have never fallen out of love with.

edit, after re-reading the post more carefully: I don't actually expect recs in this fandom. I was just going to accuracy. :)

It is a teeny tiny fandom, but I love The Big Bang Theory. [livejournal.com profile] cereal writes some great stuff, and of course annakovsky's story for last year's yuletide was made of yay.

[identity profile] lexii314.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I picked Merlin. Star Trek Reboot and Atlantis (non Shepp/McKay)

[identity profile] roga.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I suck at choosing only two.

I chose 3, but I think Star Trek Reboot and Star Trek Reboot RPS can appear in the same recs list. Maybe that makes me a heathen, but I'm okay with that. :)

Thank you for the awesome recs. I have dishes to do, but they can wait. Or maybe I'll copy your example and use these stories as a reward. Hmm. Spock voice: "This idea has merit".

Although canon is making it hard right now, I am a Supernatural fan at heart.

Now, the question is: do these positions require an extended knowledge of yoga? If so, I'm unfortunately out. :P

Inhabiting by [info]gigantic - bar none, this is one of my favorite stories.
Right!? My favorite part is where Zach grabs Chris' wrist in the air balloon and doesn't let go.

Other - Merlin rps. :D

Your last set was helpful since I had missed a couple of Merlin stories. Thanks.

[identity profile] calligrafiti.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I've finally fallen for Merlin, and I'd love to find whatever good fic has been written for it.

Criminal Minds, NCIS, Supernatural...if it's a good story, it usually doesn't matter what the fandom is.

[identity profile] jamesinboots.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn, it was so hard to choose because I read ALL of those fandoms, except SGA!! MRPH.

[identity profile] mardia.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I might not have read closely enough, and so I basically clicked, like--four fandoms instead of two. Whoops.

In addition to Merlin and the New Star Trek, I read in the following fandoms. Harry Potter, Stargate1, The Sentinel, Highlander, Pet Shop of Horrors, Good Omens, The Man from Uncle, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek TOS, Star Wars - Master and Apprentice.

Harry Potter is my main fandom, but I keep up still with many of my older ones.

[identity profile] moojja.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
This is all your fault. I had no interest in Star Trek RPS until you started to rec stories. Now I find Chris Pine incredibly hot. (Which is strange, since I like Spock better than Kirk, but Pine better than ZQ.)

This is my way of saying thank you for all the recommendations, and kept them coming.

[identity profile] ghfan-98.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
My current fav fandom is NCIS (Gibbs/Dinozzo). I started out with X-Files (Mulder/Skinner)and(Skinner/Alex) then went to Smallville (Clark/Lex), Stargate Atlantis (Sheppard/McKay), QAF (Brian/Justin). I unfortunately can barely string two coherent sentences together so I would not dream of subjecting anyone to my writing, so I depend on the great authors found on the web to feed my slash addiction.

[identity profile] thepouncer.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't suppose you read in Gossip Girl or Criminal Minds? Or Live Free or Die Hard?

So, I checked off four, hit submit, and then noticed the bit where you wrote "two fandoms", but by then it was a bit late. Sorry about that. Of course only two of the four are actually in the running at the moment, so it probably won't matter anyway.

[identity profile] cleito.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm currently on a horrible Supernatural kick. Wincest and RPS. Scary.

[identity profile] drlense.livejournal.com 2009-07-27 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Heroes because I'm having SUCH a hard time finding fic I like- I've read all the Crack Van recs and liked some of them, but I feel like there have to be tons of good fics I'm missing.

It does not help that I'm joining the fandom two years late.

My usual rec sources are failing me on ST:Reboot and Merlin, which are incidentally the two fandoms I'm most interested in at the moment. Would be thrilled!

Though I only voted for those, I'd be interested in Due South or SGA recs as well . . . the one because I've only recently gotten interested in much fic involving RayK, and there's so much that I've no clue where to start; the other because I've been out of the fandom for about two years and am quite out of touch. ;)

Anyway, it's really lovely of you to offer, in general. :) I love recs, and the fandom I've spent most of my time in for awhile now is weirdly lacking in them.

Supernatural. I am now solidly Dean/Castiel, which is just bizarre to me.

[identity profile] clancy-s.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Lurking, mainly looking for new reboot fic:

since ST 11 came out, faced with insufficient reboot Kirk/Spock I've been getting back into TOS, both the eps and the fic, in a big way.

Other fandoms: Torchwood, on hold. Almost inactive (following one author still) - BTVS. Old - X-files, Sherlock Holmes.

ST is getting almost all my attention atm.

I'm one of those freaks weirdos who adore NCIS not for the Gibbs/DiNozzo (I see it, it just doesn't really do anything for me), but for the Tony/Tim. So.

And I too worship at the altar of [livejournal.com profile] winterlive. Not sure I'd rank as a priestess, but surely a congregant.

[identity profile] girlnamedpixley.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
I will cough up significant funds for any Chuck recs you can make for me. I have exactly TWO excellent, adore-them-beyond-words, have-read-them-a-zillion-times each Chuck fics saved...and you wrote both of them. *g* Please, sir, may I have some more?

[identity profile] monkey-dahdee.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
*delurk* As a nod to the fandom that got me into your writing, Smallville tops my list =) Remember the traumatizing snippet continuation/sequl to Somewhere I Have Never Traveled? Yes, still hoping for a resolution to that one. A HAPPY one even, but I'm not sure how that'll happen.

But I have faith in you!

And because I have somehow been sucked into it simply with ONE FIC [You'll Get There In the End (It Just Takes A While)], Star Trek Reboot.

I've read some Merlin and a handful of Star Trek Reboot, but my primary fandom right now is Stargate Atlantis (and SG-1). I am, however, McShepped out and pretty much run in the opposite direction of almost anything that looks McKay-centric. So, you know.

Half-Blood Prince is also reigniting all this HP love!

[identity profile] snarkydame.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
It's hard to find good Chuck fic, you know? And I trust your taste.

[identity profile] recarte.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I can totally read directions. *facepalm* (Well, Star Trek Reboot RPS + Star Trek Reboot are sort of related, right? I chose three instead of two. =_=)

[identity profile] owlrigh.livejournal.com 2009-07-29 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Before I gafiated six years ago, I was into Stargate SG-1, mostly; also still hung around The Sentinel and Due South. Plus the anime I was into, hugely, and also sadly seeing as most of the fanfiction is really, really hideous. Your recs have now brought me into SGA and I am having seriously huge fun and happy squee at the series, which notwithstanding it not being all that great, is very fun :D

I voted for American Idol RPS and Chuck, although I'd be happy with recs from just about everything else save Heroes or SGA which I haven't watched. (Not yet, at least.) I haven't really come across many good Chuck fics and I only recently fell onto the American Idol RPS bandwagon and would appreciate any recs for either.
