Crap, and now I'm thinking about it. The farthest I can get without removing some key facets of Kowalski's core personality is that he's not entirely aware of what he's doing, or at least why he's doing it.

I suspect, given Ray's personality, that his way would be less destructive of Fraser (or Stella, actually) and more about turning it on himself for one of them to stop.
