No, Anonymous is about right: Environment Canada shows the actual temperature as between -27 and -31, with the windchill dropping the felt temperature to -37 to -47 (I'm not sure what time the protest was). If it hit -45C, then it was -50F (which you possibly knew, but I always have to look up!)
