Maybe I was just too deeply invested in the House fandom to be sanguine about it, but it genuinly felt like it was the most stupid place on the internet at times. I didn't join the main comm because that's where the stupid congregated (and was a wank Mecca to boot), and eventually I had to leave the H/W comm. I had no problems with the squee (that's why we're here, after all), but it was such potent mixture of rampant idiocy and SRZ BZNESS that I couldn't stand it.
Has there been shipper petitions (several of them) in this fandom yet? (I wouldn't know since I didn't get converted until this spring) Has discussions about RPS turned in to flame wars over whom is attractive/young enough/gay enough to be Joe's lover? There was an actual flame war over whom Hugh Laurie was fucking. The OP was *convinced* that Hugh and Robert was in a relationship and that that's why the show was so slashy. Isn't that pretty much scraping the bottom of the fandom barrel? Has actors' impending marriages made fangirls cry because that in their heads mean the end of their non-RPF ships?
