I like the Atlantis-seceding thing, but the only thing that I... not disliked, but was left wanting for with this story was that I wanted them to eventually make contact with Earth again. Sooner rather than later, really. I wanted someone on Earth's side to whack a bunch of people upside the head and actually try for honest diplomatic contact and reconnect with Atlantis as a separate national entity. Mostly because I love SG-1 and I wanted them to continue interacting with Atlantis. :-)
