Wow, you're such a cool mom. My parents were never the kind to go overboard on presents, but they always got me good stuff that lasted, and hey, I have a tablet laptop, so I'm not complaining. I remember one Christmas my parents got me a gigantic K'nex set and I sat down and built the massive tower in less than a week. It was twice my height, and god was it awesome. Anyway, I don't think they make those anymore, but if they did, I would totally suggest you look into one. If he's into building stuff, he'd probably love it.
