You know, that hadn't occurred to me. I've always enjoyed good gen as much as good slash, but in SGA, some of the best Sheppard characterisations seem to be gen. Actually, I've noticed that even in slash, there are many first time stories where I'm fine with the Sheppard characterisation until they actually get involved, at which point Sheppard seems to be receiving a complete personality transplant.
