Oh I definitly don't think he gets much better in the future either. I mean, come on. The guy who ruins all his plans is *Clark*?! Clark the flying squirell-boy whose back-up plan of going through the sewers is to jump off a million-story building with no knowledge as to if he can make it and no plan on what to do once he does? Lex's plans can't be all that great if *Clark* can figure out how to stop them, ya know? ;)
