That attrition rate is awful, indeed. I wonder what their birth rate is like, to make up some numbers-and if the next generation are any smarter or more socially adaptable...Darwinism, done human bee-style.
Very low, actually; somewhere they mentioned birth rates were lower in Blood, but that may specifically refer to the long-lived races, for whom reproduction could be spread over seven thousand years give or take. There aren't, noticeably, families with more than one or two kids anywhere in the series for Blood, and the only person that I can remember that had more than two was Saitan himself (Peyton, Memphis, Damon, Lucivar, dead baby #3), but that was with three women. His wife Hekatah was hte only woman in the entire novels I remember that gave birth to four kids (by Saitan: Peyton, Memphis, dead baby #3; by Andulvar: Ravenar).
