This is one of the many reasons I'm not on Facebook. I also don't have a google account, and stopped using the search engine a couple of years ago (arduinna sold me on duckduckgo), but like you, I have cheerfully sold my entire life to Amazon. It's hard to be consistent when memory is short and you're lazy; I probably wouldn't have VPN if my ISP didn't give a basic version away to its customers.
